Kathy got post 800!
Phillip and I have been on two DCL cruises, so...
For you guys without kids, don't sweat the activities on Castaway Cay that much. Serenity Bay (the adult beach) is truly the most beautiful, peaceful, calm place to spend the day. It's amazing. The water is so clear. The sand is so clean. They come around and bring you adult drinks right to your beach chair. Whatever you do - don't fully book your Castaway Cay day.

Not really, we did find out there was a dress up night (not really formal night but similar) and I can rent a tux on the ship.
It's not that stuff at all. That's the easy part. It's the onboard stuff. What do I NOT want to miss out on? What do I want to do on CC? This kind of stuff.
Oh! And that's just the cruise part of it. We're doing 5 days pre-cruise and going to US. Never done that park before. Don't know much about it or how to plan for it. ADRs? Forget it. I haven't figured out a single one yet.
You won't miss anything. We're all to chatty for something to happen and everyone not know about it.![]()

CC is a bit tough.
Tracy, I see the CC Island Cruise listed in our excursion paperwork, but not on-line. Is it still available and what is it like?
Dara, please rethink this. If there is any chance of you traveling outside of the US again in the next 10-years, please get one.
I'm in a bit of a quandry. We are doing the same exact cruise in June, but with the kids. So we want to get in the activities we normally couldn't. So parasailing is a definite (shhh, it's a secret). And I'm interested in the island cruise, but no one seems to know much about it. I would love to snorkel with the stingrays, but DH doesn't float. LOL!
Decisions, decisions....![]()
What if Don led you astray and you missed the ship in Nassau? How would you quickly get home? You won't. You cannot fly internationally without a passport book (not a passport card).
Chris may be ok, Jen. They will make you were floatation vests. My Sister who is a Certified Diver and Dive Master had to wear one when she did it the last cruise. Did not matter if you can swim, float or not. It was required.
He doesn't snorkel well either. It's quite comical. I guess it's the whole breathing through the mouth thing. He won't do it.
I don't swim. I can't swim!! But i'm not too afraid of the water as long as I have a floaty something or other and my DH nearby. I don't like water in my face...so I avoid kids and splashing...I just can't deal with it...lol...When we were on our cruise in 2007, I was alright using the floaty mat thingy and our snorkel mask to stick my face into the water to see the fishies and stuff. It was pretty cool...as long as I didn't get water in my eyes, I was ok. I'm getting better about the water, but I still freak out if it's over my head and I have nothing to keep me afloat!I'm in a bit of a quandry. This thread has been open for 24Hrs and there are 800+ posts already. Poor Tracy and Alex, they are going to be going crazy opening and closing threads the closer we get to the cruise.
I can't wait to see what happens starting in early May when a lot of us will be travelling. It will be, "I'm leaving" or "I'm here" posts. I am not even going to touch the live reports. We all remember what happened with Rex's adventure.
Correction - you can rent a tux to be available for you on the ship. I don't want anyone to think you can wait until you get onboard and then rent the tux. It won't happen.
Not only this, but think of it this way. What if, God forbid, something happened to you on the cruise and you needed to fly home in an emergency? What if Don led you astray and you missed the ship in Nassau? How would you quickly get home? You won't. You cannot fly internationally without a passport book (not a passport card).
Holy Cow. Gone for a while and the new thread starts with 55 pages already?!? Wowser. I've got a lot of catching up to do....
Poor Don can find the trouble himself...Poor Don, always getting in trouble.![]()
