The renaissance fair celebrates talk like a pirate day? I love the renaissance fair in LA. It use to be the largest in the country.

We have themed weekends, one of which is Buccaneers Bounty or something like that. The early "pirates" were around the end of the classical Renaissance period. Although pirates date back to before ancient Greece. Most of the kiddies dress up something akin to Capt. Jack Sparrow, which is way out of the chronological time frame, but creates involvement and interaction, so its worth it.

Thats cool for the kids. The LA fair is part of the living history museum. So in order to work the fair you have to take classes on how they lived and how to speak the language of that period.

Ours in surely not that historically accurate. It is just fun. A lot of people in funny clothes, talking funny, eating odd food with their hands, entertaining each other and the folks in modern-era clothes.

I took a friend with me one year and she thought it was weird.

Well, my pups have decided it's time to go to bed. They start to bite at my pant legs to try to drag me where they want to go. Its a good thing they only weigh about 10 lbs apiece, otherwise I'd go through pants left and right.

As previously stated....."Fun on a Ship" just doesn't roll of the tongue the same. Plus there is less of a chance of making "Fun on a Boat" inappropriate to younger listeners...if for some reason the singer were to have a Moe-jee-toe before singing a verse.

Arg. My doctor put me on meds so I am not one. I just shut down like a computer that has been unplugged when I get tired. I only have a few minutes left in my reserve battery when I am ready to sleep. So it looks like you'll be posting a while eh? Maybe I will leave the computer running and check when I get up in the middle of the night.
