First Ever DISUnplugged Podcast Cruise, 11th and Final Thread

Good Morning Everyone!

So, it's finally the last Monday before the Podcast cruise. Here are a few things we like to do before leaving on any Disney World trip.
1. Make a countdown calendar. We will be doing that tonight. We only do it 5 days out officially, but I've been counting down unofficially for 15 months now.
2. Get lots of sleep leading up to the day we leave. We will go to bed an hour earlier than usual in order to be well rested for our trip. Late nights and early mornings can take their toll during your trip, but if you are well rested before you leave it does help.
3. Try not to get overly excited. I've found being overly excited can wear you down and weaken your immunity system. This increases your odds of getting sick prior to or during your trip. (Yeah, right...Good luck with this one :lmao:)
4. Make sure you have all your reservation documentation and itineraries in a folder before you leave. Having all this in one place keeps us organized and worry-free. We keep it in our carry-on if possible.

Just popping in to say Good Morning before I go study for and take my last Anatomy test. I still have my final on Wednesday!! :scared1:

See you later!!

:wave2: Morning!

Gotta do homework today...EEK!!!

And gotta clean the house...Double EEK!!!

Good Morning. I paid our gratuities this morning. I spoke to Donna, Pete and John's silent partner in Dreams. She said she will be at the Poly meet.

Would you believe I am still debating the laptop? Why can't I make a decision about this? I am so wishy washy. I did remove 3 pairs of shoe last night. Actually only 2 pairs went back to where they came from. The 3rd pair is still lurking with the other shoes.

I am so excited. I started my tanning on Saturday. I think I need another coat or 2 to get the color I want.

I just loved talking to Donna! She was so nice. We talked for like 10 minutes about the trip and how excited we are.

I too am debating on my laptop. I would really like to take it but it is just one more thing to keep track of.

I printed off my cruise documents this morning. My cabin mate and I have been playing voicemail tag for the past few weeks, hopefully we will reach each other prior to Saturday evening.

Ask Tracy
When I printed my cruise docs, my ID info didn't register. Is that important? Will I have to go through the whole process again at the terminal? Or is there a way to add it now and reprint it? (By 'now', I mean after I go home and get my passport because I don't have that number memorized yet.)

What did you two do that you got a call from Donna? I thought a call from Tracy was bad. You must have been real trouble if the principal wasn't enough. The superintendent had to be called!:scared1::scared1::eek:

Donna's not the superintendent. Many of you probably have talked to her and didn't know it :goodvibes:goodvibes

I'm not sure what you mean by your ID info?

AskTracy,

I have a bus question. Will we be giving our luggage to the porters at the port? Or will that happen after we get off the bus? I just like to make sure I have my tip ready if I need to tip.

Did that make any sense at all? I have been on cold medicine for too many days in a row.

Not really making sense.

You will get off the bus and then give your luggage to the porters. You will be getting off the bus at the port. Does this make sense? I have a feeling I didn't answer your question.

Makes sense. You answered my question.:rotfl:

I was just wondering if we were going to give our luggage to the porters or if they were going to unload the bus without us being there.

Great Nicole, thanks for asking! It was in Columbus, OH. They finished 2nd. This was like the Super Bowl of competitions for the year. It was the last one (thank god) and now they start the off season, training and working on tumbling fundimentals.

:cool1::cool1::yay::yay:

Hi Alicia  My wife Kim wants to know if you are really bringing all those shoes? If so, she's pulling out the bigger suitcase. ;)

yay! Good for her! :cheer2:

:thumbsup2 Trust me, BFF, you'll like it, even if you are skeptical. I was skeptical too-as I am not 14 years old (the target audience).

My clothes and shoes are all out on the couch now. I told Phillip that I had a packing spreadsheet to make sure that I didn't overpack - was able to mix and match my stuff, etc. Instead of being impressed, he just looked at me, rolled his eyes, and said "Of COURSE you do."

He will pack on Friday night in 45 minutes. I will have 4 lists going and have been thinking for months about what I'm taking. He'll end up with everything he needs and I will be the one who forgets something. :upsidedow

Since I missed the listing of the shoes earlier, I'll tell you that I have my water shoes, black sandals, white sandals, casual sandals, and my sneakers.

Austen lover here as well. Pride and Prejudice is one of my top three favorite books. Colin Firth *IS* Mr. Darcy. Dodie is Team Darcy all the way. :)

Hugh Jackman = :lovestruc for me too. I've loved him since Kate & Leopold. THAT is the Hugh Jackman I love though. That and the Broadway Hugh Jackman. I am NOT a Wolverine fan. However, learning about his state of undress might influence me to have to check it out. ;) Phillip gives me a hard time about my Hugh infatuation...he too calls him "Huge Jackman."

Confession! I was supposed to read Pride & Prejuidice in High School. My group made the decision to break it up and read certain passages each. I STILL have not read it. Maybe I will bring it on the trip!

If this happens, throw all the magnets on his chest and yell "CLEAR!!"

:lmao:

The Canadiens are getting wound up.

Wait a minute.

We all are! :goodvibes

ahem - I am a LEAFS fan!

Bring the lap top. OR  what kind of memory card does your camera use? I am bringing a laptop with an SD card reader built in. You could bring blank CD's and back up your pictures from my laptop...

Mornin' everyone. :goodvibes This is the final Monday before vacation. Be in a great mood today people!!! :thumbsup2

This is my last Monday at work for a while. My next Monday will be June 1st.

I packed for good over the weekend. Its a good thing everything has wheels or shoulder straps. I think I have 8 pairs of shoes. But one of them won't be coming home.:sad1:

I also realized that the point of the cooler was to bring alcohol on board the ship, however as it sits now it is full. :scared1::scared1::headache: Must rearrange or figure something out. Maybe a duffel bag to lighten the load?

I'm rather excited, but need to try to keep an even keel. Lots to do at work to make up for the week I won't be here.

Oh yeah. Four more sleeps until vacation!!!!!
6 Days Until "Fun on a Boat!" and Buffoonery on Buses!!!
5 Days Until 6 DIS'ers get MUDDY for Give Kids the World!!!

I put my duffel bag in my big rolling luggage. That way when I get to the Dolphin and get my box of FE stuff I can rearrange my stuff. I am going on the ship with 3 check-in bags a rolling carry-on and a bag with my laptop. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I have never had this much stuff on a trip before. I will definitely be shipping stuff home. I hope to only have one bag to take to Las Vegas with me.

Mindy we have a date! I'll PM you my cell number.

On second thought.......

Anyone else care to join in a drink by the Dolphin pool on Friday night?
What time? Friday is MK day and we will most likely stay for fireworks but I'm game if it is afterwards.

Great list!! Sleep is out of the question - I'm too excited to sleep!!!
I spent the last part of last night taking pictures of my emails on my iphone so I have the documentation saved on my phone in case I lose the papers. I just love that phone!

I'm bringing my laptop so I can download them to it. I take a lot of pictures. When I was on my walk and took the pictures I posted, I took 500 pictures!

It lists Chris' ID as a passport, issuing country, number and expiration date. For mine, its all blank.

I would go back into your registration information just to see that it is there, but Disney says it is all completed. (they can't see the information, just that you completed it all).

ASKTRACY - clarification...

So, we'll be giving our non-carryon luggage to the bus driver who will load it in the compartment under the bus? Then, when we get to the port, he will give it to us to give to the porters? That means that we should have our luggage tagged with our DCL tags that morning and be prepared to give the bus driver and the porters tips?

Is that clear as mud?

Ask Tracy (or anyone else who wants to help)

So we had a bit of a temper tantrum here last night - the adult, male kind. DH does not like to dress up. Neither do I, but capris are a great alternative for women. He doesn't have that luxury. So, I was wondering what he can get away with at dinner? Can he wear dressy shorts with sandals (the Jesus sandal look)? He will have a couple polos with him, but mostly new Nautica type tees. He also has a pair of plaid shorts.

Can dress shorts be worn to Palo brunch?

Thanks for the help. While I'd love him to wear nice pants every night, I want him to be happy.

Hi Nicole. I would so love to wear shorts for dinner but know it is frowned upon and I want to make DW happy. I have "one" pair of shoes, for "two" pairs of casual pants, for "six" tropical polos/shirts. All approved for public consumption by DW. :)

Everything else is shorts and tees. Man comfort!
