First DVC Vacation in 2 weeks!!

We are taking our 1st DVC vacation in 2 weeks. This vacation will be to our home resort, which is the Beach Club Villas. Given that we are new DVC members, is there any secrets that we should note to enjoy a great vacation? Also, it has been 2 years since we visited WDW --- last trip in 2004. Here is our strategy to combat the heavy crowds -----

Avoid EMH parks - except, maybe go to AK for an EMH evening
Eat Breakfast in room and get an early start each day
Follow tour plans in the Unofficial book
Do the "Child Swap" to take advantage of both parents being able to ride with oldest child
Enjoy Storm-A-Long Beach at Beach Club during mid-day --- take some breaks from the parks.

Other strategies for a great vacation ---
Maximize visits to our favorite soda shop --- Beaches & Cream -- light on the deserts -- our family of 4 can share a desert, because they are monsterous with heavy carbs!
Spend some time at the Boardwalk
Utilize our DDE card at 2 character meals, Beaches & Cream, and AK counter service.

Any other suggestions for us? Less than 2 weeks away and we are pumped!

Here are a couple for you...

book a dinner reservation at Boma as close to dusk as possible.... when finished go out to the savannah and view animals through night vision goggles.

If going to a water park... drive there instead of taking a bus. Your wet, tired and now waiting for a bus! Isn't a recipe for success for our family - We Drive!

Cook Spaghetti in your room one night as a down night! Funny thing my kids usually look forward to this.
