We are waiting for rofr and once that goes through we will be planning our first trip to a DVC resort. We have stayed at All Star 2x and Port Orleans. We can't wait to step up. We are thinking of going to BCV. Any suggestions?

What resort is going to be your home? If BCV is not your home, then what time of year are you planing a BCV trip? BCV can be very difficult to get at the 7 month booking window or less during certain times of the year. Mostly that is during the F&W festival and summer. ALL DVC resorts are difficult to get at less than the 7 month booking window during the first two weeks of December. So, you see, we need a bit more information before giving you advice.

I really want to go the week before Thanksgiving but the kids have school... bummer.

My vote is for Saratoga Springs. :thumbsup2 It's a large resort so usually you can find a room there. But there are many things that make SSR great. Beautiful rooms with great views of fountains, golf course, DTD. It has a zero-entry main pool and beautiful quiet pools. Surrey bikes, a spa, rec. hall. Lots to do.

Think about which parks you think you'll spend more time at & what kind of ambience you'd like when you are not at the park. Look at map of the WDW property. Everyone has their own opinions about their favorites.

BCV is great b/c of the pools & easy access to Epcot & MGM

BWV is great b/c of the activities, restaurant, & entertainment along the boardwalk + easy access to Epcot & MGM

VWL is great b/c of your a quick boat/bus ride away from MK, you can enjoy the Electrical Light Parade & fireworks from the beach area, & it has a very special ambience that many people find very relaxing + you might enjoy the shade of Ft. Wilderness in August when it's likely to be very hot.

AKL is obviously great for the animals & ambience, but is a longer bus ride away from most parks

SSR is nice IMHO if you like Downtown Disney, but otherwise feels too spread out for me, although the spa & main pool are very nice.

OKW is quieter & a little roomier but some find it too far from the parks

The joy of DVC is that if you plan to stay at your home resort & then call at the 7 month window you can try the various DVC resort over time. Many people split their stays in order to do this. Ex.) VWL for 4 days & BWV for 3 days

Call Member Services as soon as you become official to check on availability. It may make your choice for you.

Welcome Home! and Congrats!
