First DVC trip - what do I need to know?

We're leaving in a few weeks on our first DVC trip ever. Is there anything I should know? (Like do we check in at the regular desk or is there a specific DVC check-in area). Or do we ask for a member benefits book (with list of discounts) or do they automatically give that to us?

Any help would be appreciated?

Check in at BWV is all at the one place, on the DVC side. You will receive a Welcome Home packet which will include a Perks book!

I do ask if there is a special activity sheet. For instance at Halloween I don't think the schedule was in the folder when I checked in on the Saturday before, but I got one from concierge. Closer to Halloween, I think the schedule was slipped under everyone's door. Also, resort Christmas community programs may be on a different schedule sheet.

BE WARNED!!!! You'll love it so much that you might be like DH and I and come home from your first DVC trip w/an add-on! We took a tour just to see SSR and the AKL models and wound up w/50 more points than when we began the trip!!!!

Have a great time! Enjoy that BWV! Our home is VWL but we're staying at BWV for the first time in 4 days! Yippee!!!!
