I guess after looking at a few of the trip reports it seems everyone posts as they are happening . So I guess mine will be more like an after trip report . I used my points for the first time to stay at AKV value 1BR . I thought the room was really nice ,it was a bit smaller then the BLT 1BR model I saw when taking the tour at the doorway to dreams in 2011 . But I knew they would be smaller cause it was the value room .We ended up getting the room with a pool view that was quite nice , and better then the parking lot view . I really liked the decor and the size . We ate breakfast every day in the room and that was really nice . I have a tendency to over eat at buffets and of course the money saved .
On that note I found the dinning plan to be very worth it and figured that I was saving about $50 per day . We ate a table service every night but our first night, and on our last day we used the extra table service to go to chief mickeys ( I over ate) LOL .My son had a great time meeting all the characters . I was excited about this since I couldn't get him anywhere near the characters when we when on our cruise last year . He got really into the meeting them , and we got him the autograph book and he was loving it . We had our other reservations at hollywood and vine fantasmic VIP plan ,coral reef in epcot , Boma , BOG and ,Ohana . I thought the buffets were good they always had a few really good special dishes , Boma kind of just not my kind of flavors i guess but I enjoyed it . Ohana is hands down my favorite meal of the trip , the food was amazing IMO I loved the salad , and the dumplings were the best I ever ate , and of course the never ending meat skewers . BOG it was so nice in there they had the 2 different rooms we ate in the ball room , I also thought the food was amazing here too . I had this shrimp and scallops in a pastry . Coral reef was my least favorite , but my son enjoyed seeing the sharks and other fish while we ate .
My son also fell in love with pin collecting to the point I had to avoid the booths cause he would want one . We were very excited that he was so into collecting them though .
As for the parks we went the week before memorial day and I guess no one was planning on coming till fri . We let extra magic hours dictate witch park we went to it worked out great, went on every ride in every park we were basically done by noon with all the rides we wanted to go on . We came home and gave my son a nap so he could stay out later then went back to the parks for our dinner reservation . We made all around 4:30 . We wanted to keep him up late enough to see fantasmic and the fireworks at MK .
Fantasmic was great my son loved it and had been wanting to see it for over a year when he saw the little short video online . He really gets into the shows . We had the vip seating for the show and I always herd you end up sitting on the end and was surprised that they seated us dead center . The show was real fun .
MK obviously the longest day plus add the fireworks this was way to long a day for my son . By the time the fireworks started he was he was sitting in the stroller watching ( this is not normal) he usually never sit in an event like this . Anyway he made it and had a great time just poor planning on our part to have chef mickeys planned the next day at 8:00 with the start of monstrous weekend . He really didn't want to get up we almost skipped it cause we felt so bad trying to get him dressed . But we got there and he loved it .
It was nice staying at AKV when it came to using the busses I noticed that we always had quite a small line for the busses . Using busses was quite annoying to me and I really didn't want to wait . I think next time I think I may just rent a car .

I know the trip was for you and your son so who is the sweet girl in the pics? I didn't go back to see if you mentioned her name. Did she have fun too?
