So we have sailed on the Wonder once and have sailed the Magic 4 times, but this will be our first cruise on the Dream. Any recommendation on room locations? It looks like all mid-ship rooms are gone so it would have to be forward or aft, and any recommendations on port or starboard as well as deck? We have never stayed in an inside room, but are considering it so if you have any thoughts on that we would appreciate it!! This cruise is at the request of my son who wants to be able to go into the teen club on one of the bigger ships before he's too old!! Oh, and any other recommendations or hints you have about the ship are greatly appreciated!! :disrocks:

One thing that is a little weird on the dream is that the forward elevators open on the pool deck into the adult only area, which was a little annoying because that meant we were not allowed to use the forward elevators to get to the pool deck or cabanas with kids under 18, which it sounds like your son is. So I would vote aft. Starboard has views of the beach when you are pulling into castaway cay so that is usually the more popular side of the ship. As for floor, lower down so we can take the stairs to the restaurants, adult district, and inside activities, higher up will be nearer to the pool deck and Vibe--I prefer lower, but you know where you'll be spending most of your time.

My tip about the ship would be to try to call and get one-day passes to the rainforest room. It has more amenities than the classic ships and is really nice. Remy brunch is also fabulous, albeit expensive.

Kids club for teens is at the front of the ship. As are the adult sun decks and spa. I prefer the aft personally for proximity to cabanas to pop on up for an early breakfast or grab and go lunch.

Thanks!! That's great information!! :thanks: :disrocks:

I think Forward or Aft depends on what you personally would like to be closest to. We are traveling with younger kids so we like being aft which is closer to the kids clubs, Cabanas, the adult clubs, and adult restaurants. As far as port or starboard many prefer starboard as it typically faces Castaway Cay. As far as the inside rooms we have only done verandah, but I know many like the virtual portholes. I’d like to sail inside one trip just to experience it. HTH!

We've also only sailed with a veranda or an outside porthole room and wonder with the amount of time you spend in the room if it's worth the extra cost!! We love the view, but I wonder if we would really miss the view!! 🤔

Yeah, we have definitely discussed the pros and cons before. I think I’d be willing to do it on the Dream or Fantasy just for the novelty of the magical porthole and to say we tried it. However, I love starting my morning/finishing my night with a beverage on the verandah, and just the option to have fresh air without leaving the room.

All the midship cabins might not be gone. If you are trying to book online, you can't see everything that's available. If you call DCL you may find that the cabin you want is available. We'll be on the Dream February 26, 2021.

I discovered that since I booked a cruse on our last cruise I had to call anyway, which I actually prefer!! I researched some rooms on here, near to the laundry for my DW, and we ended up booking room 9506, forward starboard!! We appreciate everyones input!! :disrocks:

We used the forward elevators to get to the pool last month. My DD is 8. I had no idea we weren’t supposed to be entering the pool area through the forward elevators! I knew that area was for adults only, but we just walked quietly past it to the family pool area, and no one said anything to us. I noticed a few other families doing the same so it never occurred to me we were supposed to use the other elevators. This was our first cruise.

Forward is the best place to stay. My family always stays in the forward and we love it!! Muster station A every cruise pretty much.

Inside rooms are great. I love the magical Port hole!! It is so much fun to see the characters come across and Raymon wishes you sweet dreams every night!!! Sometimes I think they are better than verandahs. I do like saving the money.

There is no signage when you come off the elevators restricting it to adults only and families walk through all the time getting to the family area since it is the only way to get from those elevators to the family area. I wouldn't worry about it. If Disney wanted to restrict it they would put a sign up.

Going the other direction (from the family area into the adult area) you do hit the signs as you enter the adult area.
