Ethan woke up at 06:15. We were so tired and the rest of kids were still a sleep. We managed to give Ethan a toy and he layed happily in his airbed playing. We only had 4 hours sleep the night before as we had to get up early and travel down and then a late night last night due to some noisy teenagers we just could not move.
At 08:15 we got up when Callum and Casey woke up. I took Casey to the toilets for a wash and to get ready for the day, whilst Bruce was organising the boys and himself. When we got back we bought some pain au chocolate and croissants by using our rusty GSCE french. By the time we were ready it was 09:30.
We set out for our journey to DLP at 09:30, clever us thought we navagate using the map from the park, which involved us having to find the A104. However, no matter which way we travelled we could not re-trace our steps from the night before and ended up going through various lovely french villages and then up the wrong way on the A104
After turning around several times we found a sign that said Disneyland Paris 17KM although our campsite stated it was 9KM. We just thought it had been measured by the way the crow flies so navagating through the roads would be a little longer.
At 10:45 we finally arrived at the Disneyland Parking area. Flashing our annual passes at the parking attendants for free parking felt excellent. Bruce gets the boys out of the car into thier prams, whilst I organised the bags and belongings (this time including the rain equipement). We parked in row 29 and noticed another long walk from the previous night. We wanted to use the conveyor as you do in America/airports you walk along the moving belt. However, people were using them as a escalator and this ended up moving no faster than 2 mph. By the time we got off them we may as well of walked
As we rwere unning so late we decided we would have a cheap lunch at McDonalds at Disney village. It was 11:30 by the time we sat down with our meal. Bruce and I had a big tasty burger and fries. The children had nugget happy meals. My burger was luke warm so it was not really nice, but hey ho it saved us som money so I was not that dissapointed. It was finally time to go to Disneyland Park for our first official day.
We head for main street and stop off at the gazebo for some holiday snaps.
We headed over to Buzz ride and all the fast pass tickets had run out. The waiting time was 60 minutes. We could not wait for this amount of time due to the boys being so young and impatient. At this point we realised the park was packed. We walked over to Space Mountain and got two fast passes that was at 15:30 and went to Star Tours and grabed three fast passes for this ride and this was for 14:45. After grabbing these we went on Its a small world ride for the boys.
We walked over to Peter Pans ride for a fast pass and this was also gone. The waiting time for Peter Pan for 75 minutes. We again could not wait for this. All the other wait times for Fantasy land was at least 50 minutes plus. We stopped off for a drink and a lolly as it was quite hot and clever me and Bruce thought we would wear trousers because of the morning overcast. However the weather turned out hot and we were boiling.
We headed over to Star Tours and I decided that I did not want to go on this ride as I thought it was boring in MGM FLorida. Bruce went on it with Casey while I stayed with the boys in the shade. When Bruce came off it, it was time for him to go on Space Mountain 2 for his fast pass whilst the boys were napping. Again when he came off I decided not to go on it, as I really could not be bothered to wait. Also I really wanted to see the 4pm Lion King show we headed over to the theatre to only find out that we needed tickets. I was raging mad and was so dissapointed that we missed it and just simply could not believe that they could not accomodate all thier guests. I was seething with anger
and dissapointment and basically I let this eat me up inside and from then on it was WDW would not do this and would do this. It was a pity that I let get to me so much. However, Bruce was still having a fantastic time.
After this we headed over to Tarzan for the 5:15pm show. Whilst walking to Tarzan we went through Adventureland via Pirates of the Carribean, but they had a wait time of 45 mins. OMG were we impressed with this area, excellent theming, very pretty and lots of fun with adventure isle. Bruce wanted to take a bunch of pictures as there were so many opportunities, but it started raining, so we didnt really have time. So to wait for the rain to subside we went into cowboy cookout resturant. Loved the theming, really well done and virtually empty. We grabbed some drinks and then went to the Tarzan show.
We loved the Tarzan show. I have seen the Florida show and I found they were just as good as each other in different ways. Ethan was really cold throughout the show as it started to rain outside and they used mist effect with water which made the stadium much colder. Bruce wrapped my jacket around the boys as they wanted to sit on Bruces lap.
After Tarzan we went on Pirates of The Carribean. We had to wait 25 minutes which was not bad as all day the info board showed 40 mins. We had a few problems with people trying to cut in but they did not manage to get in front as there is 5 of us and we were all holding hands as it was dark and we were holding hands to stop people cutting in. It worked
It was about 20:30 we popped over to Buzz to see what the waiting time was but it was again 45 minutes. We decided to look in a couple of shops. We were so tired we decided it was time to go.
On the way out we went through the village and grabbed another McDonalds. We wanted to try and keep the food bill down as it was only our first day.
We left the Village at 21:30. By the time we walked back to car it was 22:00. The walk seemed to be a mile and half we were so tired and just wanted to be back at our tent for a nights rest. We felt pretty confident driving back. Everything was going according to plan until a few miles from the campsite there was a problem on the roads and we were diverted into a french village and could not find a way to re-join the main road. Tired, angry and upset we drove the campsite gates at 00:00 leaving an all time low. Luckily the campsite was quiet and we had a nice peaceful nights sleep
