First Disneyland Trip

Let me start out by telling you about our how our trip came to be!! My Mom & I went to Disneyworld in March for the Flower & Garden festival. We had a great time! I was still craving for more disney. So we planned to go to Disneyland!!

The trip will be from Oct 20-27.
We will be traveling all the way from West Michigan!
We are staying at the Anaheim Fairfield Inn.
We will be attending Mickey's Halloween party. I once attended Mickey's Not so scary halloween party in WDW and loved it
Also going to the San Diego Zoo. We have been once and loved it!

Let me introduce us...
Me - My Name is Jenny. I am 23 years old. I am recently engaged. I am obbsessed with Disney. I have been 5 times and this will be my fist time to Disneyland!! I am very excited. My favorite ride is Splash Mountain and I really love Mickey & Minnie! Also Stitch!! haha My mom & I love to travel!

My Mom - Her name is Sue. She has been to Disneyland once when she was 18. She does not remember much so she is excited to go back. She is a fan of disney.. but just more excited to be in California and the zoo. She loves animals (me too.) She also loves shopping for souvenirs in the gift shops. I don't think she can pass a gift shop with out going in. She loves Daisy Duck and Marie the cat.

I can't wait for our trip and to update back to you guys! It may be a long process with me working full time as a hair stylist and the wedding planning so bear with me!!

I hope you guys have a great time - 3 days! I would usually say that I'm envying you, but since our next trip is only 2 weeks and 3 days away and both DDs and I have colds - I think for once I'm glad for the extra 2 weeks wait!

So here is a rough draft of our plans
Thursday: We Will be flying all morning. Then arrive to Cali at 5:30. We will check into our hotel then go to downtown Disney and dinner at Goofy's at 7.
Friday: We have breakfast with Minnie & Friends then Disneyland all day
Saturday: We will sleep in a touch. Then we will Do disneyland and fantasmic.
Sunday: This will be a California Adventure day.
Monday: SAN DIEGO ZOO DAY
Tuesday: sleep in. pool. Then HALLOWEEN PARTY
Wednesday: Our final day we will enjoy both parks and we have the world of color picnic planned!!
Thursday: Come home

Sounds FUN! I bet you're super excited that you're leaving in only 2 days! We're leaving in 3 weeks and it's almost all I think about. I'm in need of a MAJOR vacation.

Anyway, have a great time and I hope you share lots of pictures and your experience when you return!

Don't be afraid to park hop everyday (not just the last day). I think there was one day during our May trip when we didn't park hop, but other than that - we usually start and end in Disneyland and get some California Adventure in during the busy part of the day. So, be open to it, the parks are really close together. Even if you're planning on staying mostly in CA, you can usually get in an hour or so at DL first (with minimal crowds - so you can get a lot done), since DL usually opens earlier.

So I am into my final countdown now... Less then 24 hours and we will be there. I cannot wait. Especially because it has been rainy, windy and cold all day here today! Boo...

Today I kept myself busy to keep myself from going crazy. I worked 9-5 then went to a Zumba class at my local fitness center. I just started doing it with some friends to get into shape for my wedding!! I love it.

I then came home..finished packing.. had my friend come over and get her farmilarized with the dogs and what not since she will be here to take cake of them..then I am curled up in my bed..

Let me show you some of my 'DisneyLand Vacation Supplies.'... Before everything I will randomly buy things I think I might need for my trip besides the usual. Then I keep them all together in a bag or what not...

Okay So starting from the left and sort of working our way to the right here..

* A Gray Lady & The tramp shirt. I got this at Walmart for $3!! Score..
* A Grayish Halloween shirt. This is what I plan on wearing to the Halloween Party
* A bag to collect trick or treat candy.. I know they give you one but I thought this one was extra cute. I got it at party city for $1.50
*Mickey Crossword for the plane
*Back up to the top we have Disney Halloween Cling ons for windows! I thought I could decorate our hotel room..
* Disney Halloween Candy Rings ( 99 cents at walgreens)
* Disney Villains hot chocolate in diff colors.. green..pink!! FUN! Walgreens!
* New Sunglasses
*Mickey under wear from walmart
*Deck of disney cards to play go fish on the plane
*My Planner with all of our travel plans..
* These are my 2 disney charm bracelets.. One I made with shrinky dinks.. the other I got at WDW and bought all sorts of charms.. I hope they have these at DL too!
*Disneyland backpack I got for booking with disney chase visa
* Minnie shirt (forever21)
*Tinkerbell pajama pants
*Minnie Lakers Shirt (Forever21)
*Disney gift cards I got as babysitting gifts from my sister to watch my adorable little nephew on my days off!!

Well I slept Great. I'm suprised.. I usually toss and turn all night before a trip!! I turned on a Disneyland Documentary that was on netflix and fell asleep!! I woke up great and it is still nasty and rainy out. We must have lost the power at some point because the clocks were all messed up.. thank god I woke up naturually!! Yikes!

Now we are just doing some last minute things and spending time with the critters!! My little cat is curled up with me as I speak..(I think she only does this when she sees the suitcases come out..she knows something is up) I am going to make an Emergen-C drink!!

So I will do the rest of my trip when I get home! Can't wait. I can't believe TODAY I am going to DISNEYLAND!!!

Well I am home from my vacation!! We had a great time!!! I didn't want to leave! Once I get some time I will start the actual update!!

Well I am officially ready to start my thread. I have been very busy with work, the holidays and wedding planning. However I am free tonight So let's go..
We left on October 20th. We live an hour away from the airport so we left around 10:30. I was VERY excited. It was cold & rainy this day. We got there, parked the car and checked in. We were flying United ( No complaints.) We got situated to wait for the plane. My mom had a coke and I had a starbucks frappacuino? thing. We also munched on chips. We board the plane at 12:55.

We got to Chicago at 1:10. Slight delay on runway but nothing big. We had a layover so we grabbed some lunch at Chilli's. Mom had a cheeseburger and a coke and I had enchilada soup and a salad. Nothing amazing but killed some time and fed our tummy.

We then got on out plane to orange County (Don't remember the time). To kill time we ate snacks, played cards, colored these candy mickey rings I found at walmart and watched Cars 2. (Loved it)

The plane ride was long but we managed. We arrived at the Orange Country airport at 5:30. We got our luggage, got a cab and we were off The cab ride took around a half an hour and cost $37. We were very pleased with the hotel upon checking in. They said they upgraded us to a Toy Story themed room. I don't know if it was much of an upgrade..more of just a themed room!! lol However I Loved it. Here are pictures of our room ..

We were happy. We put our bags away and headed out to the Disneyland hotel for Dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. I still didn't really feel like I was at Disney Yet.

It was a very quick, easy walk to get on to the Disney Resort area. A little bit further through downtown disney to get to the hotel, but not bad at all. Very Happy. WE WERE FINALLY HERE

So We checked in for dinner. Waited perhaps 10 mins. Then got a picture with Goofy

Then they took us to our table. It was sort of hectic in there. Our waited ran around like a chicken with it's head cut off. The characters we saw were.

We kinda had to hunt some of them down though..they would skip us..or skip giant sections all together. Snow White was also there but we never got a chance to meet her.

My mom & I aren't really buffet type people. Unless it's breakfast. But we really wanted to try this one to start the trip out right. Here is our food..

My mom had a hot dog, roasted chicken, salad, roll and corn. She said it was all good. Chicken a little dry.

I had chicken, some pasta salad, roll, and had to try the peanut butter and jelly pizza. It was differant! haha. I was still sort of hungry and not finding anything I liked .. So what does a girl do? HIT THE SWEETS TABLE!!

I had Worms in dirt (GREAT) bread pudding (awesome, my fav dessert of all time) Creme brulee (good) Mini apple pie thing (awful, too tart) Jello (ok, hard to screw up jello) and a creme puff ( yum)

All in all We liked the place. The food was decent. Very hectic. Don't know that we would do it again. I also liked snooping through the disneyland hotel. I had originally wanted to stay there but we decided to save money and boy am I happy we did. I just was not impressed with the hotel. Lots of construction, a mess, and I didn't really get the 'disney' vibe. However I thought this was awesome and we looked at it for awhile.

We were finished up with dinner. We walked through downtown disney and shopped for souvenirs. I always love world of disney. So much in there! I also found a Sephora which I love and bought some goodies in there. We then went back to the hotel to get some sleep to finally have a park day tomorrow!!! It was crazy being there.. right outside of the gates..and not seeing the castle yet. I was surprised I couldn't see the castle from outside. I was SOOO excited to see it!!

Okay So we slept great- the beds were really nice!! We got up bright & early at 7:30. Got ready and ate some pears for breakfast. It was rather gray looking out.

And here we are ready for the day ..

We arrived at the Disneyland gates at 8:30.. I was going crazy ready to see the castle!! We first got some pictures by the pumpkins. I loved Main Street.."What is that I see...?" "Is that it"? Yes.. I was slightly dissapointed in the castle. However I learned to love it's charm.

I certainly got a wonderful feeling knowing that Walt Disney himself stood right in that very place before. So we walked through the castle (Saw the old center of the park golden marker). And we didn't know where to begin!!
We started with a Newbie. Pinnocio. I liked the ride. My mom had not seen the movie in ages and was not sure what all was going on with the pleasure island part. haha..

So we left off going on Pinnocio. We then went on Snow White's Scary Adventure (Touched the golden apple, very cool) Then on to the Story Book Land Canal. We thought this was very cute. My mom really liked it

We walked around Main Street a bit in the shops. Like I said my mom can not go past a gift shop without going in .. However I don't think she bought anything yet. Here she is in the Crystal Shop. We liked alot of things in here, but knew it would be very hard to get them back to Michigan with us in one piece.

Then we were off to our Breakfast with Minnie & Friends. Which was good cause I was getting hungry.

So we got our food. It's kind of like a cafateria. You pay. Then get a tray and grab your food and drinks. I forgot to take food pictures. I had cereal, waffles, eggs (WHICH WERE NASTY) some danish thing and fruit. I don't remember what my mom had. The characters were very hectic here. Way unorganized. But we ended up meeting

I had never met brer fox before so that was exciting. We also ended up buying the picture from them because it turned out nice. It's on our china cabinet.
