Hi,

We will be taking our first Disney Trip with our Family in early October later this year. My son will be almost 5 and my daughter will have just turned 2. We are staying at OKW for 6 nights / 7 days. Any suggestions as to which restaraunts and rides the kids would enjoy along with where we should eat when we go to the "Not so Scary Halloween"? Thanks a bunch!!!! - APC2007

Enjoy. Crystal Palace in MK is a great character dining restaurant with Pooh and friends. At EPCOT kids enjoy Coral Reef, especially being so close to the fish. It all depends in what type of restaurants you want to try and where you will be spending your time.

My ds's enjoyed the buzz light year ride! Winnie the Pooh, Peter pan, the teacups, dumbo, the magic carpets. Playhouse disney maybe good at mgm, the stunt show, fantasmic, He also loved the animation station. At Epcot he loves figment, test track (but 2 year old could not ride) new nemo ride, Make sure to take him to make the robot and run the robot race in innovations (free) if you go to epcot, they also like tasting the soda's from around the world, Epcot has to be done with a relaxed attitude to be enjoyed though LOL at least that is what we have found we all enjoy eating or drinking around the world depending on the age. He also loves AK but he has liked the bigger rides there since he started going He loves dinosaur and everest (since it opened last year one of his favorites at 5) major thrill seaker. He still enjoyes all of these but is more of a thrill seaker then my older 2 children and loves tower of terror. I tryed to think of what he enjoys that your dd could ride too for the most part. Does he enjoy thrill rides?
Pirate cruise at grand floridian is awsome as well as the albtross cruise at the yaht club.

For a nice dinner out, try Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom! The characters come around a lot and the food is delicious comfort foods served family style!

My kids love Rainforest Cafe but it is loud we make adr's for after AK closes.
DD Goofy's Candy caldron is a must!

When we went in '03 with dd 4 and ds 21 months, they LOVED Chef Mickey's. Actually, so did my husband - we're going back in June, and we have an ADR for that one our second night. Classic characters and a buffet, so they get to choose what they eat. My kids liked the Moroccan restaurant in World Showcase, too - they had a belly dancer, and they could order plain pasta (VERY picky eaters :sad2: ). It was also NOT crowded - we made a reservation at about 1:00 for 6:00 that night. This time, we've also made an ADR at 'Ohana. The CM I spoke to when I made our reservations spoke very highly (actually recommended it when I couldn't get in to the other place I wanted). I've looked it up - an all-you-can eat menu for us, a kid's menu for them, and entertainment while we're there (kids activities and a guy playing the ukelele). It sounds like we'll be able to enjoy out-of-the-ordinary fare and they'll still eat plus be entertained.

As far as rides, my kids still talk about It's a Small World (just my luck) and the Pooh ride in the MK, and the Playhouse Disney show at MGM. We didn't get to do as much at Epcot because we spent so much time at MK, and didn't have as many days to tour. Have a blast - we were able to go at that time of the year last time, and the crowds were GREAT except for the last day (a Monday, which I've read since on these boards are the worst for crowds in general). Especially with the EMH - we walked on to rides for at least two hours on those mornings. We're going in June this time, and a little unsure of the crowds, but we can't wait!

Crystal Palace has a great character meal. Pooh, Piglet, Eyore and Tigger. I thought the buffet was great.
I would also suggest Chef Mickey's. Interactive and a lot of fun with little ones.
Have a wonderful trip.

The first trip is always exciting.

We went this last Oct dh, me, ds9, dd6,dd2. The kids favorite restuarants were Chef Mickey (breakfast) great way to start your first day at Disney after breakfast you can ride the monorail over to MK.

Another one of our favorites was Liberty Tree and if you are going in Oct the characters will be dressed in Halloween garb. It's a great place to eat before the MNSSHP. They open at 4:00 so you could do an early dinner and then do MNSSHP.
We also really enjoyed Cinderellas lunch and Coral Reef.

We are going again in Oct 2008 and we will definitly try some new places but Chef Mickeys is our first day tradition.
