Hi Everyone,
So I just booked our First Disney Cruise for Oct 2014 on the Disney Dream. We, me 25 and my boyfriend 32, go to the World atleast once a year and this year decided to do something a little different before our trip to the world. We have booked a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with verandah leaving Oct 19. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or recommendations for a young gay couple doing a Disney Cruise. I know it is months away but I am already counting down the days.

Congratulations! You guys will have so much fun and love the verandah! My best friend and I went on the Dream in 2012; and my husband and I are going on our honeymoon on the Fantasy in November.

My recommendations could actually be applied to any adult couple traveling without children. Book the late dining rotation (8:15), look for adult only port excursions, and if you drink, you will definitely find other adult and LGBT couples in the adult-only bars (we met a lot of gay friends on our cruise in 2012). We very much avoided the children's areas and activities though so that probably also enhanced our trip.

We didn't have any problems with homophobia from cruise guests or cast members -- everyone was very friendly.

Also, if you are sailing in the Caribbean, do be careful of PDA.

Have fun!

My partner and I are just two weeks back from our third cruise together. The prev. poster hit all of the good points. Just have fun, relax and enjoy! You'll find the cast and crew to be great and we've only had amazing times.

We've also had nothing but great experiences with other guests as well, both straight and gay. We still keep in touch with some of our tablemates from all three of our cruises.

As stated, good points already made. Been on 13 DCL cruises, and we have met gay couples on every one of them. You'll love DCL and the Dream. The District (adult lounges, clubs, bars) is fantastic. We will also be on that sailing, so will see you there!

We are going on our first cruise May 15th on the Dream. The bf isn't as interested in the "disney" aspect as I am, so I'm hoping that there are enough adult things to keep him happy. All about compromise I suppose!

Enjoy the adult hot tub, pool, and coffee bar. Second dining is great. You can enjoy a nice lunch before dinner. Earlier dinner it seems like you are still full from lunch. We ate one night at the Cabanas. It was a four night cruise so it was on a night that we would have eaten for the second time at animators palate. See the shows, they are wonderful. Spend time exploring the ship, if time take the ship tour. Just relax and have fun.
