First days unavailable for reservation?

We own at AKL and are considering staying at BLT for two or three nights. When I check availability 7 months out from today, the first three days are unavailable so I can't book the days that are available. Is there anyway around this to make sure you get the room? I'm guessing that during Food and Wine that there will always be that first day or more missing.

We actually want to go in March/ April the week before or after Easter. Is availability better during that time? We have been looking at Lake View knowing that it is most likely to be available (I think!).

No, there is no sure way to get a room that is unavailable when you try to book. You can wait list, but it may not happen.

Why can't you book the available days and wait list the rest?

You can't book the available days if they are outside the 7 month window. The OP could do a waitlist for the entire reservation. OP, October is one of the hardest months to get a room. It's the only month we book at the 11 month window and don't change. However, this year we are trying to book 2 nights at BCV in a 1 bedroom before a cruise. The first day was available and we booked it, but the second day we waitlisted on it's 7 month window. We have a backup plan. Since it's only 1 day, we are giving it a shot. We find the studios are the hardest to get in October, followed by 2 bedrooms, then 1 bedrooms.

As to getting BLT this time of year, it is usually difficult at 7 months out, and it is not just Food & Wine time. The period from late Sep through marathon weekend in Jan is DVC's high to extremely high demand season at WDW and getting near park resorts during that time is a challenge (and yes, there is a good chance that those dates you are seeing open beyond your arrival time will fill before you can get to them at 7 months out). However, if looking for only two or three nights, you should try the waitlist.

As to the two Easter weeks, those fall during the nine month low to moderate DVC demand season that runs from the end of marathon weekend in Jan to late Sep. The Easter weeks have a little higher demand than others during spring break time but, as long as you are not trying to go late during those two weeks, you should have a good chance at BLT lake view, BWV pool/garden view, VWL and BCV. Where problems usually arise is when you have an arrival date that is the Monday or Tuesday after Easter because many with a Saturday or Easter Sunday arrival date fill those later dates when they book 7 months out.

I was reading it as wanting to go in Oftober, but having March-April as a backup plan. Mornings.

The only way to guarantee your chances to book a resort is to buy there and book at 11 months. As I posted a year ago, booking is becoming more of a challenge as time goes on.

Of course but this happens with your home resort too but I'm sure you must know this.

It may happen only at a couple of resorts with very limited inventory like AKV CL where there are only 5 studios or at a VGF GV at Christmas where there are only 6 and 2 are fixed weeks.

98% of the time booking at 11 months is met with success.
