Coming down to the wire. We will be in "the world" 2 weeks from today. We arrive early afternoon, but imagine that by the time we get to Beach Club, checked in, etc....will be close to 4pm. We are staying at BC for 5nights/6days, have park hopper passes and DxDP.

The current plan is to head to MK, get a snack, catch a couple rides (Small World, Haunted Mansion, Space Mtn., Pirates...whatever is available), then to FW for Mickey's Backyard BBQ (6:30 ressies), followed by the campfire singalong afterwards. Made this plan mostly to "get in the Disney spirit" with a character meal. But, we have Cape May breakfast the following morning.

It's been HOT here and our girls are already mosquito-eaten. So, I'm re-thinking our first afternoon/evening plan. I'm thinking bigger lunch (quick service) at MK, then rides and later dinner (8pm) at an indoor (cooler, mosquito-free) restaurant, then fireworks.

Several options available for dinner: Kona Cafe @ Poly then beach for fireworks, Cape May buffet (crab legs!), Captain's Grille @ YC, Liberty Tree Tavern, Yachtsman, Tokyo Dining @ Epcot.

Any opinions? Can we see the fireworks from BC beach? If not, where is the best place in Epcot or MK to see fireworks? Other ideas?

Thanks!

By the time you check in to the BC (4 p.m. per your estimates) and get to the MK and get into the park (after going through purse check, etc.), you'd be lucky to have time for one ride before having to leave again to get to your dinner at 6:30.

I would maybe do a counter service (perhaps split meals) and then do a later dinner. Since you'll be at the MK, I would go with Kona Cafe for dinner and then go down to the beach to wtch Wishes.

KatMark that is exactly what I going to say. We did something similar a few years ago..stayed at Pop, we got to the hotel at 4p and we had ADRs for Chef Mickeys at 630. I swore I would never do this again. It was too stressful. We barely got to the room and refreshed ourselves before we running out the door. Little did I know this was foreshadowing the entire vacation. I would see if you could push it a little later for dinner. but whatever you decide, you better hurry because WE only have 2 weeks til vacation. We will be there the same time but at POR. Enjoy your stay!

Thanks! We're cancelling BBQ and booking Kona for 7:45 with fireworks on the beach afterwards. Kind of a late evening for both girls (one is 7 and the older one (17) has to play volleyball bright and early in the a.m.), but I think it'll be better than rushing around. Second/back up plan is to do buffet at Cape May (at our resort!) and see if we can catch some fireworks from the beach there or the bridge going toward EPCOT.

How about a different suggestion for you? Since you want to get over to MK, why not have dinner at Crystal Palace or CRT, or walk over to Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary?

You couldn't pay me enough to do a BBQ this time of year...it's just too hot outside.

Another option might be to do something like Akershus (get into the mood of Disney by seeing the princesses) for dinner at around 7:30ish. You ought to be done just in time for the fireworks at Epcot, that you can watch as you walk leisurely back to BC. Along that same thought, you could do Garden Grill for dinner at Epcot and the kids can see Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale.

If you decide to eat @ Cape May you can walk over to the Board Walk for a fun evening of street performers and carnival games. We always make time for that after dinner @ Cape May. Our favorite evening not in a park is your plan. We eat @ Kona or Ohana and then head to the beach, score a hammock and watch Wishes. Enjoy!
