We live on Long island as are sailing out of NYC next year, when you are in the terminal they will talk all our big luggage, and i keep my "carry on"? what do you use, we have a small carryon, backpack, tote bags. What would be easiest you think? And what should we pack in there? Bathing suits, change of clothes? documents? Any tips appreciated!!

When you arrive at the port, the porters will take your checked bags, and they will be screened and delivered directly to your room onboard later that afternoon.

Carry on bags can be whatever you like. Many people use small roller bags, others (like us) use backpacks.

It's a good idea to carry on necessary travel documents (IDs/reservation confirmation), as well as any electronics, and medications you may have. Many also bring their swimwear (some just wear it underneath their clothes). I also put a change of underwear and extra shirt in there, 'cause - you never know.

In addition to the above carry-on suggestions, we put DH's camera, the I-pad and my dress-up jewelry (such as it is.) Basically anything that would be most likely to "walk away" in checked luggage; stuff that you'll want to put in the safe in your stateroom.

Yeah, I forgot the jewelry part. I just lump all electronics stuff together :teeth: under one title (cameras, laptops, ipod, etc). But, then, I always have my camera out and at the ready, not in my bag.

We bring small roller bags (like the big duffels with wheels) so we have enough room for an extra change of clothes or two in case something happens to our luggage and that carry on is all we have! It's extremely unlikely anything will happen, but we like to be prepared.
