We are going on our first trip in May 2010!! We are arriving at 10 am on our first day & were planning on going to Magic Kingdom. We have 6:30 reservations at Chef Mickey's. Would you a) go straight to Magic Kingdom, go to dinner at Chef Mickeys & then crash or b) go to hotel, hopefully get kids to nap(??) & then go Magic Kingdom & then Chef Mickeys & back to Magic Kingdom to see parade/fireworks? We will have one other day at Magic Kingdom. Does it take long to go to Chef Mickey's back to Magic Kingdom??

Thanks!

My advice would be to go with the nap idea senario!! I think all at once is a lot and the weather is cold here now but by May the weather makes you drained and from a grandmother to a little 2 year old over here makes them very short tempered
When you have little ones I think it is nice to take it slowly. Even though there is a lot to do.
My daughter has just started working in Disney at the character breakfast and she loves it. So if you see her (her badge says Liverpool England lol) say hi!
good luck if I can help let me knowJulie xx

go straight to MK, have dinner and then back to MK - forget the nap. I can't imagine trying to settle my kids (or myself) down to take a nap when dealing with the excitement of our first day in WDW. You could walk or quickly monorail to Chef Mickey's - that isnt a factor at all for you.

Our first trip was last year with dd's 5, 6 & 8 - we ran them ragged, and I dont think they would have had it any other way.

Skip the nap... if your 3yo can nap in a stroller he/she will do that. We went back 1 day on our trip last year, and it was okay, but it seemed like it was a waste of time. My girls nap just fine in their stroller, so we did that each day.

Thanks.. that kind of what I was thinking. I also will be to excited to rest at the hotel. I am hoping he will sleep in the stroller & actually my 7 yr old sometimes gets more tired than the 3 yr old (he is very skinny) but I am hoping everyone will be running on adrenalne & will stay up for the parade! I have heard of some people not even really checking into the hotel but just getting their passes & checking in later? Is this possible?

:tinker::welcome: Congrats on your first trip!! We will also be there in May! I would definitely check in at the resort and head strait for MK! We can never get enough park time :yay:

I love the sugar idea. Being a veteran at WDW and am taking a 31/2 and a 7 year old grandkids on the 1st of april for their first time at WDW i agree with load them up and have a great time. Our first day will be at the kingdom and for dinner we are going to Liberty Tree Tavern to celebrate my wife's birthday and will surprise the kids with meeting characters. Enjoy the experience as there is only one first time.
