Hi everyone,
I'm looking for opinions on what to do about our first day as far as food goes. We are on the regular DDP. I know I should have planned this better, but at least the rest of the trip is set.

At first, we planned on doing DTD on day one and no park. Recently, we changed our travel arrangements and will arrive earlier than we had planned. We have 7 day park tickets (no hoppers) and will be at Disney 7.5 days including our last half day before we travel home. So, now we are thinking we can use a park ticket that day. The problem is, we have reservations for Ragland Road at 5:30 pm. I think I want to put off going to DTD until our last half day now, so we can buy souvenirs on that day.

Sorry it's so long windedm but these are our choices now. What would you do?

1. Keep ariginal plans at DTD and not do a park.
2. Go to Animal Kingdom from 1:00-5:00 and eat at park or AKL
3. Go to DHS from 1:00-8:00pm and eat in park or get ADR at Kouzinna or Cape May.

Thanks for reading!

If it's only part of a day I would actually use that day to take your time and tour the World Showcase in Epcot. You don't have to stress about rides, and on your way through you could always grab fast passes for a ride in Future World for later. Then I would have dinner at one of the amazing places in WS. My choice would be Teppan Edo.
I really like to get to places at Rope Drop, especially DHS for Toy Story Mania, but that's my family! So a more relaxed day for me would be WS!

We decided to go to MK on our travel day last trip, with an ADR at CRT for dinner at 8 PM. Let me tell you, we were DEAD by dinner. It was horrible. The early touring and dinner at AKL sounds like it wouldn't be too bad. I think DTD is always best at the end- so you know what you REALLY want instead of just wanting EVERYTHING! It really depends on what you want to do first. This trip we are going to check out DHS on our first day- but we don't have to wake up at 4:30 AM this time either. Have fun!

I would use DTD on the last day as it makes a nice shopping day before leaving. So you could do DHS and eat at 50's or Sci fi which are fun or you could enjoy Epcot and the World Showcase and eat at one of those fabulous restaurants...my fav is still Le Cellier!
