Just thoought I'd throw this one out there.....

I'm just trying to come up with some "First Date ideas" for
a couple in there early forties. Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks,

A movie would be a good idea. It's non-threatening.

I like a theme park idea.....movie......depends what part of the country they are in. Flying kites and a picnic can be fun......

I think the best ideas would come out of what they like and what they have in common.

Dinner and a movie is always good.

A theme park if that is what they like.

What about a museum: art, history, science.

Going to an antique fair or craft show.

Anything that will give them something to talk about and break the ice into other things.

The Gardner Museum in Boston is a great first date http://www.gardnermuseum.org/

Its so beautiful there! And very eclectic, lots to talk about. I noticed you are from MA, not sure if Boston is near enough.

outdoor concerts, boating. Depending on their athleticism maybe tennis or rollerblading or something like that. I had a great first date once playing tennis in the afternoon, then off to dinner and a jazz club. I was watching a dating story this afternoon and they went on a duck tour then out to brunch. Looked like they had a great time!

a baseball game is also a good idea. what are their interests?

A movie by itself wouldn't be a good idea because it doesn't allow much time for talking.

If they don't know each other well, lunch or brunch would be good. Otherwise, dinner and a movie or dinner and mini-golf.

I like the idea of a theme park or fair as sometimes it is awkward to eat on a first date. It seems like the date asks a question right when you've just taken a bite of food. LOL

Disnee Dad Says.............................An afternoon movie on the weekend. Don't skimp on snacks!

Being the Dad, I meant male, dinner is at your very clean, home.

As soon as you get home, put the fresh butterflied shrimp into the tequila, lime and cilantro marinade. No more than 45 minutes or the shrimp will get drunk.

A couple adult beverages to pass the time.

Asparagas spears, with a little garlic butter, boiled cause it's simple and takes less than 5 minutes.

Individual cobb salads, the real deal. Crumbled bacon, egg, turkey chunks, shrimp, avacado, tomato and crumbled blue cheese, on a bed of various lettuces. You can do this the morning of or even the day before.

A couple more adult beverages!

Lucky for me I'll never get to try this, but....maybe in July when I have a week off, maybe give tinky mom a special treat.

Just wanted to say thanks for all of the great ideas and suggestions.......

Thanks,
