Hi! My fiancee and I are getting married on July. We booked an intimate wedding package @ the Polyneisan. There will only be about 10 people there, including my fiancee and myself. My question is, should we have a first dance @ the cake/champange reception? I am not sure since there will only be so few people there. Would it be silly??? Any opinions would be great!!!!

We had our dance at our intimate cake/champagne reception at the GF (WP wedding). We didn't feel silly, it was actually kind of nice with the solo violinist and not too many people around. If you'll feel silly then scrap it. But if you're worried about what your guests will think, don't worry;) They won't think it's silly, trust me! Congrats on your wedding, only 4 months left:Pinkbounc :bounce:

I think you should definitely have that first dance. You won't want to look back in a few years and say you never even had a dance at your wedding! Music will be playing during your cake cutting and toast anyway. Have a dance while your guests are enjoying their cake! If you want a special song that is not "Disney", the violinist will play that as long as you can provide the sheet music for it. If it is a pretty popular song, the violinist may already have it! Have Fun!

You should definitely do your first dance. I was really worried that it would look silly also, but it was great. It seemed natural and gave us a chance to take everything in together. The guests were sipping champagne and enjoyed. It is your wedding day, so it's okay to be the center of attention. If your like me that seems like an uncomfortable idea, but you wouldn't want to miss it. Trust me!

Honestly, the music is my favorate part of the wedding. I love music and I am planning on bringing my own music for the ceremony and reception. If they don't allow it then that will pretty much make up my mind to get married or just honeymoon at DW. I have to have my music!! I think you should follow your heart. I think the first dance is very romantic and appropriate. It allows your guests to see the two of you as MR. and MRS. for the first time. Good luck

I don't think it will be silly, I think it will be romantic to dance on the beach w/ the castle across the water.

I thought our first dance at SBP was very romantic. We had the violinist playing Can you feel the love tonight just for us :lovestruc
