First Dance

I was wondering what everyone's first dance was/is? DF and I are having a Disney themed wedding at home then off to Disney for our "Family-moon" for us and our two kids.

I am also having an at-home Disney Wedding!!

We are actually using a song by one of our favorite bands, it suites us and always manages to tear me up!

We are using Disney Music too but mostly for the ceremony and a few key points of the reception.

Our first dance is "Hold On" by Michael Buble. We never had an "our song", but we first heard this one shortly after he proposed, and we both had a very emotional response to it.

Are you looking specifically for a Disney song? The song "So Close" from Enchanted is really beautiful. I recently finished an internship at DLR where I often worked World of Color. One of the scenes in the show is a montage of Disney couples, and it's set to "So Close". It's so sweet.

Well, our song is Faithfully by Journey, but I'm not sure the lyrics totally work for a first dance song so that will be played later. Right now we're set on Lost in This Moment by Big and Rich (it's about a wedding day). We've also thought about Marry Me by Train and Today was a Fairy Tale by Taylor Swift.

Our first dance was to Then by Brad Paisley. My DH actually suggested it, it fits us perfectly.

We decided to stick with the Disney theme and go with "When You Wish Upon a Star" for our first dance. Our wedding was themed around the fireworks show "Wishes", so it fit with that as well!

We couldn't decide between Disney or non... so our Disney DJ blended our two: The beginning of Sleeping Beauty's, Once upond a dream faded into Michael Buble's You and I. Was perfect!

We decided on "Kiss the Girl" and had the Violinist play while we danced. It was a really beautiful song done as an instrumental.

what a wonderful choice - I may be slightly biased because thats what I'd pick, (DF would probably disagree tho lol)

I'm going down the aisle to 'part of your world' so for me Kiss the girl would be perfect.

back to the subject 'once upon a dream' was an idea for me... neither us can dance so we could both sway along to the music?

I know what you mean! You know it was actually df's choice, lol. I was so happy he came up with it. I originally wanted Beauty and the Beast but he didn't want to be considered the Beast, lol. I was however ok with being considered the Beauty.

Our wedding song was "Feels like home" by Chantal Kreviazuk everytime I listen to it, it just gets to me. Make sure what ever song you pick has some meaning or reminds you of a special memory.

Our song is "Everything I do (I do it for you)" by Bryan Adams. Yeah, it's a little cliche, but it's totally us. And of course we'll also be dancing to Disney songs.

Our song is "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Bros., and that was the song we danced to at our wedding (in 1991).

This time around (for our VR) we'll have it played while we cut the cake since we're not having a "first dance".

DH had to have his leg amputated and is learning on walking with a prosthetic - I wasn't about to "make" him try and dance. I'm just glad he's able to walk around (even if it's with the use of crutches).

Our first dance is going to be to "Everything" by Michael Buble. We knew it was the perfect song for us as soon as we heard it, and I love that it's faster then a lot of romantic songs because I love dancing and twirling around!
