First Dance Songs

I'm having a really hard time picking our first dance song...

Right now it's between

"At The Beginning- From the movie Anastaisia
(i always thought this would be my wedding song..it's kind of fast... so I'd probably have to slow it down)

and

"Lost in this moment"- Big and Rich


What did you/are you going to dance to? DF and I don't have a "song" so any suggestions are welcome

My DD and her new hubby (1/4/08) didn't have a song either, so her Dad and I came up with one that they liked (it's an oldie - kinda - from the 1970's)...the DJ there didn't have it but we provided the CD...

Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce......

Lyrics are something like ...If I could save time in a bottle, the one thing that I'd like to do...is to save every day like a treasure and then again I would spend them with you.......

It's not too fast or too long, just very sweet....give it a listen...

My first dance is going to be either "Start of Something New", "You Are the Music in Me", or "Everyday". I'm using one of those songs as my first dance because of the theme of my wedding/reception.

The Anastasia song is really good. I love it. You should use that one. I've used a couple of songs from Anastasia as Skating programs before (and as a result have had to slow them down a tiny bit), but they're not that bad when you slow them down. They're still really beautiful.

Oh I LOVE that song from Anastacia - what a good pick!

We had "Hello Again" by Neil Diamond, when Paul and I first started hanging out we both mentioned that we really enjoyed the Jazz Singer and although we hadn't properly started seeing each other until the January I gave him a belated Christmas present of a video of the film so it kinda stuck!

OP..those are my two favorite songs and ones that I am considering for my first dance if it ever gets here (I'm not even engaged yet...but the talk is serious... )

Did you think about maybe have At the begining play as the reseshal (sp?) song at your ceremony, since it is a little faster?


Regardless, I think both songs are great!!!

And if later in life you think the other song should have been your first dance, just pretend that it was...

I love Big & Rich. If we were getting married now, I probably would have picked Lost in This Moment as our first dance.

We used Billy Joel's "You are my Home". The lyrics fit perfectly for us (and still do).

We're using A Whole New World from Aladdin. It was DF's idea out of the blue, so I'm happy to use it! I was going to use When You Wish Upon A Star, so instead I'm using that to walk down the aisle.

We're doing "My Destiny" by Katharine McPhee. It's the song she sung when she should've won American Idol. One of my girlfriends that I did Miss Saigon with back in the day is going to sing it I'm so excited!!!

For me I always loved the song "You're the Inspiration" by Chicago I think. But I really like the song "One Dance" by Jodi Benson because it goes with my theme and I think it would be a great song to do a slighty choreographed routine too (we plan on taking some dancing lessons) But I want a song more timeless I think. I loved the dance they do at the end of Enchanted and think it's just so romantic (and I'm so not mushy mushy) but that song doesn't really work for a wedding.

But in the end DF said he wants to choose and I said yes, so right now we are still undecided.
