We just booked our first cruise ever on the Wonder for three days at the end of March. My wife is a little nervous, but our seven-year old son is very excited (me too!).

We ended up on deck 5 in room 5126. Does anyone have any comments one way or the other on this location?

We also were concerned about flying in the same day. Our travel agent was looking into the cost to fly in the day before but it sounds like we would miss the nice baggage transfer through Disney. Any recommendations?

I have been reading as much as I can on this site. Thanks to everyone for all the information.

Last question: Is there anything I should be looking at reserving now in advance of the sailing?

Hi Robert! I also just booked our first ever cruise on the Wonder for 4 nights. (Although we have to wait until Oct. 05 for ours)

I don't know if you have read Passporter's DCL Guide or not, but it is a great book! Between that book and this board, I feel as though I will be thoroughly prepared to cruise.

Welcome to the DIS and congrats on booking your cruise! :)

From what Ive read Id think the peace of mind knowing you have a good cushion of time when ya fly in the night before vs the baggage transfer would push the envelope towards flying in the night before.... What time does your flight get in that day? If you are getting there any later than oh 10ish I would definetly fly out the night before especailly if you are in a high volitle weather state where weather might be a factor.. It always seems to take me longer to get from point a to b than i figure wether it be flight delays, tranportation from the airport delays etc.. Id take as much outta that equation for cruise day as possiable...

We will be going on our 3rd Disney cruise on the Magic in May. We always book our cabin on deck 5 - it's nice and quiet.... On our first cruise, we flew in the day before the cruise and stayed at the Hyatt at the airport. The bellmen will pick up your luggage around 8:30 or so... and you can pick up the DCL bus after 9:00 a.m. in the lobby of the hotel. The Hyatt is right at the airport and was a fun place to stay four our son!

I second the recommendation for the Hyatt. It is a little pricy but nice and VERY convienent. All you have to do is bring your bags off the belt to the lobby of the Hyatt (right there in the terminal) and a bellhop will bring them to your room for you. You put them in the lobby in the morning and a they will pick them up for you and get them on the ship. All you have to do is when you check in let them know you are with DLC and they will give you a sheet of paper that explaines it all. It's all very simple. You do not have to cart your luggage around yourself.

Oh, I forgot to say ENJOY! :D Youre gonna have the time of your life!
