I am planning on going on a DC with my 3 daughters ages 15, 13, and 11. At first I wanted to go when they had some time off of school but found that it was way more expensive, so I'm willing to take them out of school for a week. We want to do a 7 day cruise. I'm wondering what's a better time? November/December or January/February? Also, inside stateroom or balcony? It seems as though St. John area was more than Grand Cayman? Any tips, suggestions, and cost savings measures are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

the eastern is usually more expensive than the western. fantasy will be more expensive than the magic. we cruised in late Jan/early Feb and weather was fine. the ocean view room is in between the inside and the balcony cost wise. we actually like it the best

enjoy the cruise, you'll have a great time

We have cruised during both time frames and the weather was pretty good. There is a chance there will be a tropical storm or hurricane, but they go around them. Our first cruise we were suppose to go West, but due to a hurricane, they took us to the Eastern Caribbean instead. As far as the cabin, the inside cabin is less expensive. We have done 6 DCL cruises and always stay in a inside cabin. We are only in it to sleep and shower (and my husband to nap), so it is not worth the extra money to upgrade for us. We would prefer to use the money to shop or play bingo! It is just a personal preference and what you are most comfortable with. We have done both the Western and Eastern cruises...both were wonderful. We loved Key West, but also really enjoyed St. Maarten as well. Just don't miss out on Castaway Cay...so much fun. We have only sailed on the Wonder and the Magic, not the Fantasy. Both ships are beautiful and easy to get around. The cruises on the Magic do tend to be less expensive than the Fantasy. You can't go wrong with whatever you decide. Cruising on the DCL is a magical and wonderful experience no matter where you go. Have a wonderful time and enjoy the incredible service and fun that the Disney ships provide.
