first communion gifts?

my eldest is making his first communion next month and people are asking me for ideas for what to get him. I don't even know what we are getting him! any ideas that I can pass on?

Although it's not an answer you can actually suggest, I have always given money for 1st communions/confirmations - or a Saint Chistopher medal; beautiful rosary beads; an engraved Bible; etc..

In your case, I think I would just say something along the lines of, "I'm sure he would love anything you pick out"..

Some of the ideas mentioned were a bible, money, savings bonds, books (religious or non-religious), movies (again, religious or non-religious).
