We go to Disney every summer, but this will be our first Christmas trip. We are traveling with DD who is 12 and DS who is 4 and in a wheelchair. What are some of your favorite things to do there at Christmas? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Where will you be staying?

We had our first Xmas trip last year Xmas week and it was fantastic! We stayed at the WL and the resort was decorated so beautifully. We often just sat in the lobby enjoying it. They had carolers one night and everynight they had free cider and cookies in the lobby. The characters visited in their holiday attire and we got some great photos with them and the kids. Also, on Xmas eve Santa came and they each got to sit on his lap for a photo! It was great. I know that the other deluxe resorts do these things as well and all the resorts have Xmas activities going on such as crafts by the pool or in the lobby.

At Epcot, we didn't do the candlelight processional, but I've heard wonderful things about it. We enjoyed touring the countries and seeing the different Santa's and hearing their stories.

We enjoyed resort hopping and checking out all the amazing decorations at the resorts on property. The gingerbread house at the GF is not to be missed!

Xmas eve we had dinner at 1900 Park Faire and it was great! On Xmas day we ate at IL Mulino at the Swan and it was also a great meal and atmosphere. The palm trees at the entrance to the hotel (on the BW side, not the main entrance) were lit and "danced" to the Xmas music. It was so nice!

We really loved our Xmas stay and can't wait to do it again next year. We did the parks before Xmas day and never waited on one line! We used EMH and it worked out perfectly.

Our kids are DD15 and DS10. My 15 yo occasionally needs the use of her wheelchair because of her disability and I have found Disney to be very accommodating. We were able to easily manuever every where we went.

Enjoy your trip, it will be magical!! :goodvibes

Desnik,

We have stayed at WL before and it's so amazing. I've seen pics of it at Christmas and I know you all must have felt like you were in a lodge in the mountains! How magical indeed! :cloud9:

It's on my bucket list to stay in Dec and right now, we're planning our 10th anniversary trip for the 1st week in Dec. It's 2.5 years away...but I'm a planner;)

We have done trips over Christmas, and I agree with Desnik! The resorts are beautifully decorated, and we enjoyed lots of resort time! The parks are crowded, so a good plan will help!!!

PM me if you need any help with details. We did the day after Christmas for a week at the AKL in a concierge room, and over Christmas in a villa at the Boardwalk. We've also done the week before Christmas at the Boardwalk villas.

i agree with everyone on the resorts!! :thumbsup2

we have done over Christmas three times. this will be the fourth. two times the first few weeks of December. we do go to the parks at rope drop and just stay a few hours.

we drive so we have the Christmas tree packed and ready to go!!!! :yay: we bring a 4ft tree and some decorations.we are staying in a one bedroom at okw. we love okw! going to candle light proc. Christmas eve after eating in Germany and will be eating at tepen edo Christmas diner. :thumbsup2

hopefully our favorite cast member will be able to join us for some of it. :rotfl:

Thanks for the suggestions. We do have Candlelight processional for Christmas Eve, which I think will be amazing! Has anyone seen the lights at Studios?

Yes, we've seen the Osbourn Lights at DHS many times, but mostly on our Nov trips! It's great and I wouldn't miss it. It really gets you in the spirit with the dancing lights to Xmas tunes & snow!

When we went last year we drove too so we packed a small tree and decorations along with all the presents for our kids. I'm so glad we drove. I can't imagine flying with all the stuff we had! :lmao: Next year for our Xmas trip we'll be driving again. :thumbsup2

Do not miss the Osbourne lights! They were truly magical! We also really enjoyed the Christmas storytellers in Epcot. Our daughter sat mesmerized by the stories.

We now live an hour and a half from WDW. One of the things I'm looking forward to doing is going around to all the resorts to see the Christmas decorations. We plan to go see them this weekend.
