Just got back, and we honestly had the next to the last rooms on the 5th floor! If you haven't seen it, there's no describing it! It didn't bother us much, as we were so happy to be there, Boardwalk view and all.

Everything was almost perfect -- room condition, CMs, water pressure, Illuminations view, no crowds anywhere, very little rain. We had a SLIGHT difficulty with the extreme heat and humidity, and with excessive bird doodoo on the balcony!

The DIS boards are so useful in planning a trip. I asked a tram driver at MGM where the sidewalk to the Boardwalk was, and she very nicely told me there wasn't one, and that I could take a bus there! I thank everyone here who has provided info that we have used on our WDW trips!

Glad you enjoyed your stay. We're looking forward to BWV again in March '04!

Sounds like you had a great trip! And I hope you found that sidewalk, since your room was already halfway to MGM!! :p

Thanks for posting your thoughts.:)

This was us on the 4th floor in August ! I swear we felt like we needed to leave a trail of breadcrumbs to find our way back ;)
Glad you had a nice stay !

Wouldn't the rooms down by the tennis courts be farther than any room with a Boardwalk view could be?

BWV Front Desk CM: (thinking to self while checking reservation system) "Hmmm, I'm in a nasty mood today. What can I do to this next guest? How about a room that hasn't been cleaned yet? Nope, housekeeping's been unusually efficient today; no uncleaned rooms available. I could give them the opposite of what they requested. What, no requests on this one? What fun is that? Hmmm.... I know! I'll give them The Long Walk! Tee-hee!"
(Turns to speak to guest)
"Welcome to Boardwalk Villas! Your room is ready for you!...."

Hi,

Thanks for sharing. I believe we are going to stay in a BWV studio in May 2004.

LOL....and guest reaches assigned room 2 days later ! Honestly....just kidding along erik on this. Regardless of our long walk, we had a great time.

Had a room down by the tennis courts one. Loved it.

what room no.
the views are great any photos

Glad you had a good time. What was your room number? I'm thinking a room at the end of the hall would be quiet, was it? Can't wait for our first BWV stay!

The room #s were 5003-5005, and as I mentioned, next to the last (5001).
When you look at the outside of the building, we had 3 of the 4 colored awnings right under the words "Catch a Wave." Room 5001 (looking at the outside of the building) has a longer balcony to the right of those awnings.
There were just 2 of us (girls) in that 2 BR, and we had a fabulous time!

Hi Lyndarella,
I stayed in 5001 last July and loved it. I'm surprised you had birds. I noticed that there weren't any when I was there (I figured the dues are too high at BW and they can't afford it).

You're right, the walk is long. I felt like I was in a bad Stephen King moviewith the looong hallways. BUT well worth it!! What a view. I would stay in that room every year if I could. The best view at WDW (of course I'm a biased BWV owner).

We just got back from the BWV too. We loved it. We were on the second floor overlooking the luna pool. What a great place. And we all know there IS a walkway from the boardwalk to MGM!!!

we returned home last night. We were in lockoff studio 2015, right over Big River Grille's awning. Great room! A bit of a stroll, but we found the pool/walkway door that someone else mentioned here. It saved us time when using the bus. We hopped off at the Swan, walked over and cut through the pool to our room. Forget the parks, I could have stayed on the balcony the whole time! :sunny:

Out of curiousity, where is the walkway from MGM to BWV. This may be useful as I will be their for my first time in "see below" days.

We stayed in 4005. (Studio) Beautiful Room, Great view, Long long walk.

There are several signs for the MGM walkway around the Boardwalk area, including by the Luna Park pool. The sidewalk goes behind the villas and Community Hall, and follows along beside the canal that the boat transportation uses. From MGM, you exit as if you were going to the tram area, but instead of getting on a tram, you walk to your left, and there is a sign directing you to the Boardwalk.
