We’re bringing our 2.5 year old granddaughter over Thanksgiving (11/22-27). The plan is to hit up the MK most mornings and play until either the crowds or the toddler temperament tell us it’s time to leave. We’ll only be doing the rides suited for her so no coasters or other big kid rides. DH and I have APs so popping in for just a couple of hours Isn’t a problem.

DGD is a very early riser so we’d like to make the most of that first couple of hours. Is the boat to MK our best option? Is the early boat to the Contemporary running these days?

We’ll probably skip DHS and maybe AK this trip, maybe have one evening at Epcot, We’re definitely trying to keep things low key. Right now all of our park reservations are for the MK. We will be visiting SeaWorld at least once. Elmo is a big deal for DGD.

I’m sure it’s probably going to be pretty busy but we‘re stuck with this week. DS is a teacher and we’re babysitting while he and DDIL get away for their 10th wedding anniversary.
Thanks!

The boat ride was good, and fun in itself. But you aren't first in line, so there is that. You do get there early enough to get on mostly everything you guys want to do, make a plan and exacute it. Best think is everyone will be lining up for the headliners, so you will skate by and not get caught up in that! Ask them if they have any transportation cards. 2.5 isnt really old enough to read them, but it might make them feel special to get a card.

I know the boat ride to the Contemporary from Fort Wilderness doesn't run right now but I'm not sure how early the first boat to Magic Kingdom starts running. Something in my mind says 1 hour before the park opening but I'm not 100% sure.

I couldn't remember either, i was thinking half hour before. But still can't remember.

I doubt the acts in the world showcase will have returned by thanksgiving, but if they have, I’d say our kids loved the street performers at that age. And the aquarium/Nemo ride.

I joked to DW that we went all the way to Disney when we could have driven 10 minutes to the French Quarter.

and my kids didn’t want to leave the parks, so we had lots of long days. They did get some stroller naps.

Thanks!

DGD has a nanny, hasn’t been out much since COVID hit and isn’t very cooperative with the masks. If there is some sort of miraculous turnaround we’ll stay longer in the park but I’m not counting on it. We have contingency plans if the parks aren’t working for us-drive to the beach, visit a spring, SeaWorld and maybe Legoland where they aren’t quite as strict with two year olds.

I am NOT complaining about Disney’s COVID policies. I’ve very, very appreciatIve that they are doing so much to keep things as safe as they can. We don’t get enough time with DGD and I don’t want to spend the trip fighting over masks.
