First birthday party

Ok, my little boy is turning one.
I'm planning a birthday party, but not exactly sure what to plan.

Any advice. There will be mostly adults and then some other kids of varying ages.

Any simple disney themed items anyone can suggest for decor. I'm thinking either mickey or pooh theme.

Where do you get a banner that says happy birthday with the kids name on it?

I am also planning my son's 1st Birthday. I am a huge party planner and have been planning this for the last 6 months. I am doing a Mickey Mouse theme, but more on they colors(Red, Black, Yellow) and the black Mickey heads rather than the Mickey Playhouse Theme. I know that you can get the banners at any party store or online at www.birthdayexpress.com (I have so...great ideas from looking on [url]www.etsy.com and putting in Mickey Mouse Birthday. And the last website I use is www.catchmyparty.com and type in your birthday theme and a buch of people post pictures of their partys on there. We are having ours at a park. Also we are getting a Mickey Jumpy for the older kids and me If you need any help with any idea let me know. I live for planning parties

My first advice would be to make sure you have plastic to put on floor around where the cake will be. That will be a much easier thing to clean than your floors from cake eating 1 yr olds. My second advice is to NOT get red, black or blue icing on the cake that they will be eating. That is so hard to get off little faces, clothes, tables, etc... That being said, you will have tons of fun I am sure watching your 1 yr old on the first birthday party. Have fun!

OP here..
I think I've decided to go with a tigger theme.
I've got lots of tiggers so decorations are already here. Bought some orange and black napkins, plates and cups along with a pooh & friends b-day sign.

What about food.
I was trying to think of orange colored foods.
Problem I'm having is I'm thinking about foods that might not be so good for kids at a party.
Like Cheetos, melon, oranges, could be messy.
Carrots wouldn't be too bad.

can someone suggest other foods. I'm thinking i'm going to have to use more than orange foods..

You can order a lot of cheap things from the oriental trade company; party favors and such! I think they may have banners too! I would check them out! If you haven't already try Pinterest for some great birthday ideas!!

Orange jello is always fun and messy , but still fun.

You can make cupcakes that the kids can decorate on their own.

grill cheese sandwiches ( orange in the middle )

hot dogs, you slice down the middle, fill with cheese, take a crescent roll and wrap the hot dog and put in the oven to cook.

Like you mentioned carrot sticks and dip, sliced oranges, etc.

You could also do orange rice krispie treats that look like Tigger. Just use orange food coloring in the marshmallow part and then after you mold them add some black licorice strings across for stripes. They have twizzlers in black. You could do some that look like Tigger's tail. That would be something they could eat and not make a mess and would be cute.

Make the birthday banner yourself. Cut a 6 inch wide banner from a white kitchen garbage bag. Attach it to a straw on one end and add the string to the straw. Weigh the bottom of the straw down so it won't twist..... Oh wait, you probably don't have an RC airplane to pull it, hehe. Was the coolest thing I've done so far with my RC plane, at least until I hit the power lines and detached the banner. Stupid thing was stuck up on the powe line for over a year. must have blown off this winter.
