Men what can I say. They know everything dont they
10.8 sounds good so far. Fingers crossed. I hope the results come today. I think the Diabetic Nurse really only comes to tell you what seems you already know. How to use your medication and are you confident with using it. Give you some information and what hypo's are and how you can treat them etc. If your doctors are happy and your happy then I can not see why you can not see the Diabetic Nurse as an outpatient. On our ward unfortunately its a standard procedure before discharge. Knowing my hospital when they are being discharged we inform the Diabetic Nurse to come today, as the patient is being discharged. Within a couple of hours they arrive.
I hope they let him home today. Fingers crossed for you X
His dr was very happy with his progress and although the results of his various tests last Friday havent been given to us we assume there's nothing to worry about as the consultant today said he was happy to let Gavin come home.
The diabetic nurse saw Gavin while he was in the discharge ward and gave him a ton of leaflets and also some advice on hypo so she was worth the wait.
Also, the consultant was very interested in Gavin as a case, he is third generation diabetic but type 1 as oppose the type 2 like his dad and grandma were so has taken five blood samples from Gavin today to send to a lab in Luton for testing to see of the scientist's there can pin point a missing gene from Gavin which, if it is missing could be used to help prove a possible genetic link for type 1.
