Kind of off topic on Disney (except it pays for my Disney trips! Which haven't happened for too long, which is in itself another story, and I'm working on it) but tomorrow morning at 9am our time (well, my time here in NY, some of you will have to wait) the LHC in Switzerland will turn on. This is a pretty big event for us, the culmination of 13 years of work.

No need to worry about any black holes, and here is a rap about it that is making the rounds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j50ZssEojtM

This is a HUGE event that didnt get enough media attension IMO. I cant wait to follow this in the upcoming weeks and months! What role in it did you have?

How exciting!! I hope you have a great day tomorrow ahoff!!

Augie, I was just watching on the news tonight about the project. It looks awesome. I know you probably had fun working on the project. What excitement. :woohoo:

A little goof with the time, our press event here is 9am today, but the beam started circulating at 9am geneva time, so it has been going for 6 hours already.

Kyle, I work for Brookhaven lab, and we were part of the ATLAS experiment. It was certainly interesting work, and feel privleged to have been a part of it. But I am still part of it, it has not even begun and we are designing upgrades. Guess retirement to a Disney job is not as near as I was thinking.
