I just got a 24-hour ban for singing the song from movie "Gypsy" about the famous stripper Gypsy Rose Lee. That is too funny. I just laughed until I had tears rolling down my face.

I can’t say I didn't do it, because I did; but it was just song. LOL
This is actually a good thing because I promised to husband to stop playing as much VMK as I have been in the pass.

:sad1: :sad1: Oh my goodnesss Cat! Classic Broadway can get you banned! :worship: :worship: :worship: When will the madness end! LOL (Sorry about your ban):crazy2: :crazy2:

was it the bump it with a trumpet that you can't say? Or just let me entertain you let me make you smile?

Oh no, what's going to happen to all of my reprises of "I Feel Pretty?"

(And imagine, I was just going to start singing songs from Candide! :lmao: )

Sorry about your ban, Cat. It seems like VMK is trying to take all of the culture out of the world ;)

OUCH... :rotfl2:

Good news is that a 24-hour ban is nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

"Gypsy" is on the "on demand" channel this month.
So is " Bye Bye Birdie"; I wonder what that would have gotten me? :lmao:
LOL

Back to cleaning the kitchen.

I LOVE bye bye birdie!! my cousin played a part in it at our local theatre. :)

:scared1: Sorry to hear about your ban, Cat. Such a shame that a Broadway classic can get a person banned. :sad2:

Was it Let Me Entertain You? The lyrics of that song aren't that bad. It's really only suggestive if done in the right context.

I love the story, but can't stand the original movie. Bye, Bye Bird-Hee! Annoying!

I like the tv version done with Vanessa Williams much better.

wow sorry about your ban cat.
Sounds like Shorty is not a fan of show tunes.
Btw what part of the lyrics were you singing?

I guess this means that my plans for a room theme based on "Chicago" is out. :rotfl2:

All I have to say is WOW to that one VMK. I sing broadway tunes and talk about them all the time in VMK, but never ran into a ban.. although this shows me that I should stop singing some that are from RENT :thumbsup2

Does that mean no songs from Avenue Q either? :rotfl:

Sorry about your ban, seems kinda harsh.

A couple months ago, I was in a room with someone singing the song "Rick Star" from Nickelback. If anyone's heard that song, you know that the lyrics are definitely not VMK appropriate. Not only did that person not get banned (at least as far as I know), but there was a staff member in the room while they were singing it (I believe it was QA_Caffdawg). And I know Caffdawg noticed because she was asking the person about it!

And yet somehow you get a ban for that... :sad2:

Just to clarify a bit...

I was there and we were singing Let Me Entertain You and discussing the movie Gypsy. I think cat chose an unfortunate combination of words that set off the ban, something along the lines of Gypsy taking clothes off (probably in an effort to identify the movie since we can't say Gypsy). In context, it was really quite innocent and probably not inappropriate. Taken out of context, perhaps by some VMK filter, it looks really bad. Given the context, I would have expected her to get a warning at most. Fly and I didn't realize cat was banned until Fly read this thread. I had to think back about what we were doing when cat disappeared and the only thing I can come up with that would possibly lead to a ban is the clothes comment.

What I find interesting is Fly and I did not even get a warning. And I even quoted from the movie in VMK speak:
"Mummy always said, ' Make them beg for more, then don't give it to them '... but I'm not my mummy."

:confused3

Yup Q, sometimes the VMK Filter is a little sketchy.

A few months back, on of my friends said "afk taking clothes off the line" and came back to the computer to find herself with a 24-hour ban.

Nothing bad, just a filter gone wrong :rotfl:

Oh oh, and more recently, one of my friends was talking about performing with Disney at the parks or something about that, and he was describing it, including the make up and all. He accidentally said "make out" instead of "make up" - 24-hour ban. Silly filter

Although, after that instance, "making out" doesn't seem to be innappropriate anymore... I have three words: Sci-Fi Drive In. Value-breaking central lol

Sugar :)

Yeah, but you can't blame us. I mean, it's dark, the movies/shameless advertisements are so scary, and those cars are just so darn cozy! :rotfl:
