Hi. Since my last trip to Walt Disney World, I have been diagnosed as diabetic. At the time I'm typing this, my doctor has me trying Trulicty in place of insulin. If that works, that's a shot I only have to take once a week, which I can easily do in my hotel room. However, I do need to check my blood sugar before each meal. I have read of where the first aid centers are in the theme parks where I can go and test it in private. But I haven't heard of a similar place in Disney Springs. I do have a couple of reservations there. Is there any place in Disney Springs where I can have some privacy while I test my blood sugar? Thanks for the help.

I've been testing my blood sugar for as long as they've had portable personal blood sugar testing kits and I've never gone anywhere "private" to do it. Believe me no one is going to pay any attention to you testing while you're standing in a line, sitting on a bench or even at your seat at a restaurant. It's not an uncommon thing and most people really don't notice. In fact, before I got my insulin pump, I could test, draw up insulin in a syringe and inject without my dinner partners even seeing. Friends would ask why I didn't test or when I needed to take my shot and I'd tell them that it was already done.

I don't know if Disney Springs has a first aid but it would be a major pain to hike all the way there just to test.

Are you alternate site testing, like on your thigh?

Otherwise, as @Chickenlady said, don't worry - you will see far stranger things at WDW than someone testing their blood sugar. :) Seriously, most folks at WDW are far too self-absorbed in their own vacation experiences to pay much attention to anyone else. I have a long-held theory that most of the other Guests at WDW are too busy posting to Instagram and Facebook to notice anything, or anyone else.

If you do need privacy to test, you may find that most of the larger Handicapped Accessible stalls have sinks in the them that could be handy. And there are also some Companion/Family restrooms that are larger, with just one room and a locking door.

as PP said most people will not notices you testing, I have done every thing from test ( inline walking down Main Street eating) to changes my infusion set ( doing all the above) no one has even notice what I am doing.

I will tell you a funny story I was eating at a restrount ( non Disney in my home town) when a lady next to me was really trying to see what I was doing ( I mean it looked like sh was doing some kind of yoga pose that looked very uncomfortable ) she finally said to me you should go to the batheroom to do that I looked around ( there was a group of police officer eating) and I said I do see some people with Gunns but no one is pointing them at you telling you to watch me. the lady turns very red and people in the rest round started to laugh she never said another word and I still to this day laugh when I think of this.

when I fist started to test I did need a place to sit but I think as fair as when you are eating you will be able to quietly test at your table ( most people think I am on my phone) or you can go in the bathroom) but why would you want to take away form your time at Disney to walk all the way to first aid to test ( and some parks first aid is a good walk away)

a few other things for you

bring more test strips then you think with all the walking you can go low, and you do not want to walk to fist aid when you feel low but test where you are.

being something with you incase you go low. if you do not have something ( and you really should always have something at Disney) tell a CM they have always offered me something ( juice mostly)

I don't believe there is a First Aid location at Disney Springs -- I've never seen one and the website only shows First Aid at the 4 major theme parks plus the 2 water parks.

DH is diabetic and has no problem testing. He also prefers to be very "private" but manages fine. To others it just looks like we're having a little chat and nobody pays any attention.

Be sure to bring plenty of testing supplies and test often. With all the activity you'll be much more likely to go low than usual.

Enjoy your vacation!

Thanks everyone for the help and tips. I'm definitely planning on having some glucose tablets on me just in case I need them. I'm definitely looking forward to this trip!
