First 2016 Summer Beach Bash

Just wondering if anyone went tonight and how was it? We are going next week and just wanted to know if it was like last year or totally different. Did they have the bands at your resort for you? Last year we were at Beach Club and around 6pm we could get our bands and head over.

We were there tonight. Yes we checked in at OKW before heading over and got our wrist bands. Weather was nice. It was pretty crowded. We couldn't find room around the wave pool at first so just moved over to the kiddie section which wasn't crowded. We got there at about 10pm and stayed till almost 12:30am. We also have it reserved for the next one coming up.

First time at Typhoon Lagoon last night. Really enjoyed it! We left BWV around 8pm, checked in at Typhoon Lagoon for our wrist bands received ours in a few minutes. Crowds at this time weren't too bad. Loved the lazy river. Thanks Dvc and the cast members for a wonderful experience.

Glad to hear positive responses. We had so much fun last year but we were allowed to enter at 7 instead of 8:30. Did they do beach games as well as the free Mickey bars? Were most of the slides open? Characters?

Yes they had limbo as well as a dj, not sure about the ice cream but we did stumble upon free chips, cookies and water & lemonade. We did see Mickey and Minnie and ran into Donald and Goofy! I believe all the slides were open. We didn't do all of them. Hope u enjoy your Beach Bash next week

We can't wait! We went to the DVC bash at MK and that was amazing we are truly looking forward to the beach bash on the 29th!

We went last night and were staying at BCV. We were able to get our band at the concierge desk in the lobby at 6pm. We got to TL at 8pm and got right in. We only stayed until 930pm (tired kid) but had a great time. We did not think it was crowded. I think all the slides were open except the coaster slides. Great event and would definitely go again.

Were lockers available for rental, and if yes, what were they charging? Last year they rented a large locker for a $3.00 deposit & gave it back to you when you returned the key. It came in handy!
Also, the DVC website said towels would be available. Were they, and was it free or did they charge?

Lockers were available but not sure of the cost. Towels were handed out as you entered.

Did anyone take the provided bus transportation which is supposed to start at 8 pm? Is it a long Wait for a bus? We are staying at Boardwalk.

Yes we did, they provided coach buses which were nice and arrived quickly. We are also at the Boardwalk.

We were staying at Kidani and attended the Beach Bash. There were 19 vacationing in our party and 16 of us went to the Bash. We got our bands from the desk at Kidani before we left and they gave us a little flyer showing what all was available and a map noting the locations of things. There was a Cruise Ship Charter bus that picked up those in our party that were at the bus stop at 8:00. We arrived just as they pulled off and by about 8:15 a regular Disney bus picked us up. So, some in our party arrived before 8:30 and were allowed in as soon as they arrived. They waited for us at the gate and we arrived around 8:35. They did have pool towels available for everyone walking in. By the looks of the crowd, I believe they allowed people in well before 8:30. We had to walk a way to find empty chairs. Our group spent quite a bit of time in the wave pool, then went to the lazy river and then started on the slides. I stayed at the chairs to keep tabs on where everyone was (okay, really, I was just tired and didn't have the energy to do much). Some members of my group mentioned having Mickey bars, others had cookies and lemonade and others had chips. The cast members working really seemed to want everyone to have a good time. It was a little more crowded than I was expecting, but the crowd after around 9:30 was more spread out and it didn't seem crowded at all. Our group left at different times during the night. i stayed until 11:30 with the last of our people. There was a charter waiting for us, however, it did wait until it was full to leave, which took a little while. Our group of 16 all enjoyed their time there and I thought it was a fantastic night!

I have 5 of us going. I am the DVC member. 2 of the people in our party cannot get there until 10. Will they let them come in later or can I meet them at the gate back at that time? This is my first member event so I wasn't sure how it all worked...

I was in the same boat. Three of us were there at 8:30 and I asked at the gate about how the other 4 people would gain entry. They said just meet them at the gate with your DVC card. Their meal lasted longer than they had planned so they chose to watch illuminations instead but that seemed reasonable to me

There were lots of cars there when we arrived, so driving is fine!
