Good morning FIRMies!
I hope your weekend was a good one!::yes:: I ended up sick for the second time in three weeks and didn't think I would be able to exercise this morning. Well, I took some Tylenol, DISed a bit, and went ahead and exercised. I did Complete Aerobics and Weight Training w/ Emily. This is a tough video when you're healthy, but even more challenging when you're sick.:crazy2: :faint: I really felt a need to exercise this morning. I'm really tired now, but happy that I worked out.::yes:: I hope you have a wonderful day!:sunny:

Tracy:wave2:

Good morning my friends. I bought heavier weights this weekend!! Boy what a difference it makes in a workout. This am was bsb with Stephanie Corley. And I blame all of you for motivating me that I actually worked out on a Sunday! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning fellow FIRMies!

Tracy - thanks for getting us started! I'm thinking about buying Complete Aerobics and Weight Training w/ Emily. It sounds a bit intimidating but I just might go for it. I'm sorry you aren't feeling well but so proud of you for working out anyway! Keep up the great work!!! :)

s&k'smom - you are using heavier weights? Wow, I'm so impressed! You must be getting stronger. Glad we could motivate you to work out on a Sunday!

On Sunday I did BSS1 ab sculpt and my abs are still a bit sore from doing those advanced moves but there's no going back to following Libby now! ;)

This morning I did Cardio Sculpt Blaster with Lisa Kay which as you all know is my favorite work out. Knowing I was doing this tape this morning actually helped get me out of bed! Sick, I know, it must be FIRMitis. I even added the light weights because I've almost got the fancy step work down now. Boy, does that make the work out more challenging.

I hope everyone has a great Monday and a great work out!

Hey FIRMies,

Well I didn't work out this morning because I was still so sore from doing Standing Legs, Upper Body, taking my new treadmill down to the basement and walking on the treadmill on Saturday. Sunday I was so sore I felt like a truck hit me, but I did manage to walk 2 miles. Today I felt like resting my achy muscles some more. I may still go walk 2 miles tonight, not sure though.

Tomorrow will be Total Muscle Shaping and some time on the treadmill. I need to figure out a schedule for the treadmill.

Lisa- Great job on adding the weights. That is a great accomplishement and really bumps up the workout! Way to go!

S&K's Mom- Way to go on the heavier weights. It is addicting isn't it. I know I love working out now!

Tracy- Great job on working out even though you weren't feeling well. I know it isn't easy when you don't feel well.

FIRMIES!
I had an "unplanned" off-day yesterday. DS(9) got sick in the middle of Sunday night, really bad viral sickness-lot of laundry. I'm home with him again today, but thankfully, he's much better & I'm going to take advantage of my day off to try TA&WT, again.

ZerasPride,
I gave you an answer about this tape, late on Sun., so it's at the end of the week 7 thread. I really liked my first try at TA&WT, but I'll let you know if I feel the same after my second try.
Melanie,
I think Standing Legs is one of the easiest ways to "get sore". The first time I did it, over 1 1/2 yrs. ago, I had to lay with ice pack on my legs to fall asleep.
S&K'smom
Congratulations on moving up a weight class. It's good to up the ante every so often.

Have a happy & healthy day! SGG

This am was cardio sculpt with Allie. Boy with the heavier weights it's like doing a new tape.

I couldn't agree with you more MelanieC it is way addicting when you are able to progress. I just keep thinking of being pool side at the Poly in a bathing suit it that is very motivating.

sueg, how is DS?

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning Firmies.......

Thank goodness I wasn't sore today! Yaah!!

I did Total Muscle Shaping today. I will also do the treadmill tonight. I think I am going to try to do the treadmill every other night for a few weeks and see how that goes. Probably only 20-30 minutes (plus a warm-up, stretch, warm up, cool down, stretch) to get me used to the treadmill. Then I think I am going to try a 5K training program to get me used to walking before starting to really train hard for the marathon.

Last night I lost .6, not bad considering I ate a LOT of chocolate plus a piece of frozen chocolate peanut butter pie and 2 pieces of nut bread plus Easter Dinner. Yesterday I was back on track thank goodness! I really wanted to eat chocolate last night. Once you eat it, your body craves it. When I don't eat it, I don't desire it at all.

S&K's mom- Yep its definately like doing a new tape. Its good that we can challenge ourselves by adding poundage!

Sue- Hope DS is doing better. Sorry to hear he wasn't feeling good.

FIRMIES!
DS is doing fine & should return to school tomorrow. Thanks for asking.
I enjoyed CA&WT (I got the initials wrong in my earlier post) this AM, but I still have to work on some footwork when we "get down w/ the fanny lifter". There are portions of this tape that I really like. I like the changes that she made to leg press- going sideways & using the sculpting stick (or in my case, a dowel). I also like some of the kickboxing moves, but they are a little unfamiliar to me. I'm really glad that I bought this workout & I'll try to get back to it on the weekend. It's back to work tomorrow & I'll probably join Stephanie for Super Body Sculpt.

Have a happy & healthy day! SGG

Good evening FIRMies!

It sounds like everyone is doing fine.

Sue - thanks for answering my question, I didn't go back to the old thread and check. I should have so I'm sorry. It sounds like you are enjoying the work out. I don't have the sculpting stick so I'm not sure this is a good work out for me.

Melanie - you're doing great! Both the FIRM and training for the marathon.

I did BSS1 body sculpt (upper body) this morning.

Hi and hugs to everyone!!!

I hope you all have a great night!

Hi FIRMies

I haven't had achance to FIRM at all this week yet :( but I did get on the treadmill today for my walk/jog. I am now jogging for 4 min. straight twice in my workout! I wanted to do some upper body and ab FIRMing today but with DD home from school this week I ran out of time. Hopefully tomorrow either before of more likely after work I will get in a FIRM tape.

Melanie that's how I started with the treadmill. I started by just walking and building up the length of time I was walking (I was walking 60-90 min. 3-4 times a week) before I started the 5K program I am doing. I am really glad I've started with the marathon training and didn't procrastinate and wait until a few months before! But it is hard to fit in time for both the FIRM and the treadmill sometimes. With the jogging I am doing now I feel that my legs get tired and sore more easily when I do the FIRM so I am doing a little more upper body and ab work and a little less of the lower body until my legs get more used to all of this.

sueg and ZerasPride I am fairly new to doing CA&WT and I like it more and more every time I do it. I am still working on the footwork and the kickboxing moves but I am getting better each time I do them. When I do this tape the time just seems to fly by.

toystoryduo I hope you're feeling better!

Have a good week everyone!

Good morning firmies. This am was super cardio scult with oh my God I can't remember her name. It was a 30 minute tape and then I did my tv show. I just drew a complete blank with the name. Anyway I really like getting the hour in of exercise it has helped me tremendously with my mental health. I hope to get to the store in the next few days to get some more tapes as now that I'm motivated I want to really mix up the workouts so that I don't get bored. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning FIRMies!
Today was Maximum Cardio Burn w/ Allie. Whew!:faint: I still don't feel 100% well yet and that made the tape that much tougher today. I'm glad that I did get the workout in though. I really wanted to workout yesterday, but felt horrible so I didn't.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Tracy:wave2:

Good morning FIRMies.....

This morning I did Fat Blaster with Allie, Lisa and Nancy. I think that might have been the first time I did that tape. I watched it before, so it seemed familiar, but I am pretty sure it was the first time I actually did it. I liked it, although a few of the sections in the middle seemed to bring my heart rate down, but the last couple really brought it back up. It had a nice ab section at the end.

I didn't get to do the treadmill last night because we went to TGI Fridays for Kids night. It sure does make for an inexpensive night out when the kids eat free!! Tonight my DD12 has practice for her confirmation so I am not sure if I will get to do the treadmill because we may also have some place we have to go in between dropping her off and picking her up.

I got 5 out of the 6 new tapes I ordered last night. The upper body split and Lower body split are very long. One was 69 minutes!! I like nice long tapes. I also got volumes 1 & 4 and Buns Hips and Thighs.

S&K's mom- Don't you hate when you forget thier names. There are so many of them. I think Stephanie leads SCS. I still have yet to try that one, but someday I will. I tried 3 new ones this week. I definately agree about mixing it up. Its fun having so many to choose from and I now own all (waiting on one to come in) of the FIRM's available on DVD. Its also nice knowing that if I want to target a certain area I can grab a certain DVD. I notice that they all seem to focus or have certain areas they work while other tapes do opposite or different areas. I love that!

Cheryl- Great job on jogging 4 miles straight during your workout. Way to go. I haven't even walked 4 miles yet, lol! Thanks for the encouragement and tips, and I think that is something to keep in mind about doing more upper body in the firm. I will have to keep an eye on my legs as I continue to go longer. Its definately hard to find the time. I would like to be able to get up a littler earlier and fit it in, but that is hard to do. If I would just get up when my alarm clock goes off. Things come up at night so its not always possible. As time goes by and we get closer to the marathon, I may have to FIRM a little less and concentrate on walking/running.

Lisa- Hi, I think you could modify and wouldn't need a sculpting stick. If you want to tell me what video I can look at it and see if I can recommend some modifications without the stick. You can also use a broom handle if you want it for balance. Weights usually work instead of the sculpting stick. I think you would be ok. Don't let that stop you. I don't have one of the long bars that you put the weights on (can't think of the name for some reason. All I can think of is dumbell, but thats the little ones).

Sue-Glad your DS is doing better. I always do a workout over and over till I learn the steps. I love the Gettin down with the fanny lifter part and I agree thats a hard section to learn.

Have a great day everyone!

FIRMIES!
It was Super Body Sculpt this AM. This is one of my favorite workouts, but I guess I'm having a low energy day. I completed the tape, but I really didn't enjoy it. Maybe it was the break in my routine, i.e. 5 straight mornings where I didn't get up at 5:30AM to exercise. We'll see tomorrow. Depending on how I feel, it will either be Cardio Sculpt Blaster or AbSculpt, either way, it's Lisa Kaye.
Now that the spring-holidays are over, it's time to think out sleeveless tops & bathing suits- summer can't be far away. That's my motivational shout to everyone.
Have a happy & healthy day! SGG

Hey Firmies! I didn't get exercise in Monday becasue of class but last night I did CA&WT with Emily and I'm getting better at it. It's starting to become easier to me. I also have trouble with the part "getting down with the fanny lifter" I get lost and can't keep up. I love the taebo parts. I have class again tonight so depending on how tired I am, I may do 30 minutes or an hour or nothing tonight. I plan on doing maximum cardio burn with allie either tonight or tomorrow.

Happy Thursday Firmies :jester:

I'm kind of lax on posting this week, i know. Was away for Easter and didn't get home till Monday night. Didn't do any FIRM tapes while i was away, but i did do a lot of walking. A couple of days i catually got in over 3 miles in spite of the weather. So that was basically a 5 day vacation, though i realized tonight that i should have made it 4 days.

I am out of practice on the AS tape. I could do all the exercises, but some of them i didn't make all the reps. and i could do all the reps last week LOL.

As for the CS and BS tapes, I found that a little vacation actually made me handle them a little better as far as CS and the Upper Body of BS goes. I try the entire BS tape again tomorrow. We'll see how well i do on the Lower Body part.

Morning firmies, this am was super cardio scult with Nancy Tucker (the one I want to buy a burger and fries for, way to skinny;) ) Plus I did a few minutes on my ab swing. My arms feel tired from the new weights so I try to take it easy but I want to be buff for the summer! Must be this turning 40 thing!

FIRMIES!
This AM is was Lisa Kaye & Cardio Sculpt Blaster (It's getting hot in here!) I'm improving with this tape, but I'm sorry to report that I fell off my fanny lifter, AGAIN. No injuries incurred. I'm still sticking with this routine, but as I told DH this AM, this workout makes me feel old. Of course, as exercisers go, I guess I am old, i.e. I'll be 50 next month. But sculpting with weights didn't make me feel the way that aerobics make me feel. I guess that is one of the reasons that I enjoy working out in the privacy of my home. It's just me (& the fanny lifter) with FIRMIES for on-line support.
Octoberbride03,
Your "vacation" sounds like my trip to WDW. Some serious walking, instead of FIRMing. I found that I missed the FIRM & returned home w/ re-newed energy for my workouts.
S&k'smom,
LOL about Nancy Silverton. Before I started exercising regularly, I thought that when you look like Nancy, you didn't have to exercise!
Big internal debate: do I return to my Friday tradition of WATP w/ DH or is it back to the FIRM? I probably would do AbSculpt, so maybe a 2-mile WATP would be just as good. The real advantage to WATP is that we do it together & it makes our AM routine move a little quicker, since DH doesn't have to exercise after DSs are off on the bus.
Have a happy & healthy day! SGG

Hello firmies. I didn't exercise last night (late class) but the night before I did CA&WT adn tonight I'll do either CA&WT again or Maximum Cardio Burn. What do you guys think? With a day of rest in between? CA&WT rest CA&WT or CA&WT rest MCB?

Has anyone had any back pain releif or reduction from the Firm? I have lots of back trouble, lower back mainly adn i'm hoping that by strengthening stomach and back muscles, it will help. Just curious if any one has had any experince with this.
