Firing range visit - is this a rough area?

Hi everyone.

I was hoping some Orlando locals or some people in the know might be able to help me.

My partner wants to shoot some guns at a range as we're in Florida. Remember UK = no guns! I'm not fond of guns but he loves them

We've found somewhere which seems reasonable price and allows tourists to shoot called the Oak Ridge Gun Range (and we've checked the legality of it and its perfectly legal for him to gave a go) Could you take a look at the area where it is located and give me a heads up if it looks like a dodgy area please?

When we told our local friend we were going there....he just said don't go at night.

It's not the nicest areas, but you're not going for the area. We felt a bit wary but it was fine.

The gun club itself was brilliant. They were so professional and we felt very confident in them....we were initially nervous especially when you see your 14 year old with a huge gun.....but they reinforce safety from the minute you walk in the door. We shot from a good range of guns.......I loved the big ones.....lol...

We loved it and have gone back a couple of times. We are from the UK too and don't get the chance to do this over here, so definitely go for it.......

Our plan was to go during the day anyways. I just wonder in these areas if the see the hire car and think easy target. We're sensible (as at home) and won't keep valuables in the car.

The guy told us they have loads of Brits go there and there was a few the times we have gone.......and yes it's all about common sense isn't it.

Some locals might find that area ok, bit I understand your concerns.

Hope you both enjoy it......they are nice people that run it.
