Firing Guns On NYE

Two people were shot in the Orlando area last night by people shooting guns to make noise for the New Year celebration. One woman is in the hospital with a bullet in her brain. They can't operate at this time because it is too dangerous. Another man is brain dead. These were innocent bystanders. How stupid can people get? Those bullets are going to go somewhere even if you fire into the air. The police are now asking people who heard gunshots last night to come forward with information as to who might have done this. Sad.

I dont know how it is in that area, but they make a big deal around here reminding people not to fire guns and such. So many innocent people are hurt by something so senseless.

Used to be a real problem in the area of L.A. where DH's parents used to live. They really started to crack down on it though. Have no clue if it helped. I hope so.

There were 2 specific zip codes being targeted with additional police last night to try to deter these fools from firing into the air.

I heard tonight a 3 year old was shot in the leg (bullet went through the wall) but I don't know if it was a stray bullet or one someone purposely fired into the house. Either way, it is terrible.

One year when I was a kid, we all woke up at midnight hearing idiots outside shooting off their guns in "celebration" of the New Year. The next morning we all got up early January 1st to head to church, only to find the front windshield shattered and a bullet sitting in the seat that I normally sat in. We were horrified! I must say, in my nice little suburban neighborhood, we never hear gunshots.
I'm sending prayers out to the victims in Orlando!
