Planning to visit the parks on the 26th December (yeah I know it will be busy). The parks are open until 11pm, will there be fireworks and if so at what time (approximately)?

Thanks in advance for you help.

Yes, there will be fireworks, and they will be around 1050-1055p.

Thanks for providing the good news - I love fireworks.

Now all I have to worry about is if I have enough stamina to be in the parks for the 15 hours they will be open

Are you staying onsite or nearby? If so you can just go back to your hotel and rest for a bit, then come back. Once you get a parking stub, you can re-enter the parking garage for free as much as needed for the rest of the day. Dont forget to get a handstamp if you leave the park(s).

USF will have a separate fireworks show from IOA?????

That's great!

Yep! IOA will have the same one it had for the summer, so my story will suffice. I'll have to watch & figure out a story for USF, though...

I'm glad Universal is having their own fireworks! It was complete MADNESS over at IOA for fireworks when they allowed Universal guests to head over just for the show.

Neophtye Question: Are fireworks at IOS/USF a regular thing or just special holiday type days?

thanks
tagged and feeling pretty good about it :smooth:

Getting quite excited now at the prospect of 2 sets of fireworks although this just brings up so many more questions :)

Is there a place where you can see both sets or will I have to make a choice. Any advice on viewing spots will be gratefully received.

Unfortunately we are staying with relatives about an hour away so going back won't be an option.

My plan at present is to hit Islands of Adventure in the morning. I don't like coasters, but I would really like to ride Spiderman and see Grinchmas. Anything else we get to do I'm going to treat as a bonus. I have made reservations at Mythos for 11:30am and we will head over to Universal Studios after this.

I have pre-purchased an Express Pass Plus for there which hopefully will make things a bit easier. Am also considering the tip (I believe I read it here) of seeing a film mid-afternoon when the crowds are at their worst. Dinner is reservated for Lombard's at 7:30pm - no decent times left at Tchoup Chop or we would have gone there.

This will be my first time in the parks so I want to me the most of it. I purchased the 3 day 2 park tickets, so I have a perfect exscuse to do it in a more civilised manor next time and stay on site for atleast 1 night :)

Jaysue-The fireworks are a holiday thing. They are only around from Dec 26-30 (the 31st being the NYE special) and from Jul 4-Aug 8 (approx).

Jacqui-You'll have to choose. The IOA one has special effects that can only be seen if you're close to the lagoon. Not sure on USF, but it wouldn't surprise me if that were true. You can see both sets if you're outside at Citywalk, but you'll just see the fireworks and will lose the full effect.
Also, your plan is excellent. Taking the mid-day break will help you rest and avoid a lot of heavy crowds. Plus having the Express plus will help you as well. Your plan is very sound, IMO.

A good spot to watch the IOA fireworks is behind Mythos. There are rocks you can climb up on, which will put you above the people for a better view. For the IOA show, the fireworks shoot back and forth across the lagoon, which is why you want a good view.
When this show ends, as you walk out, you can see the grand finale of the USF show since it starts 5 minutes later.
