Fireworks

Are there fireworks or parades at Universal?
Fireworks were basically cut way back due to the construction of Harry Potter but hopefully they will return this summer. The Cinesphere 360 show at the Studios is usually staged only when the parks are open after dark...summer and holiday periods mainly. There is not a nightly parade or fireworks display like at Disney.

During Mardi Gras they have parades and concerts.

I would really like to see the Mardi Gras parade. We arrive on the 20th & leave the 27th. It looks like those are the only 2 days the parade will run while we're there. Am I right about that?
I don't think the 27th would work for us. That's just way too late to start the drive home.
BUT we will NEED to watch UK play in the NCAA tourney on the 20th. :cheer2: Hopefully the game will not be at the same time as the parade. :eek: If the times are close to each other, how can I make this work?

Thanks!

You're right about the two parade days. Couldn't you tape the tournament back home so if you had to miss it while at Universal, you'd be able to watch it later? If not, I guess you could stay for part of the parade and then go back to the hotel...?

Good luck and have a good trip!

Usually if the park hours hit 9PM or Later they run the Universal 360 show (Except if there's a concert that night).

Im not sure if there was an issue or not, but they ran the cinesphere for a short period of time last year. It was only like 3 weeks or so.The year before we went looking to see it, and one of the cms there said there was technical issues and cut the run short.

Have you heard of the Big Blue Nation?
;)
We were 2 of the crazies who helped pack Rupp Arena for ESPN's College GameDay--not the game mind you--the GameDay commentary show.
DH is a HUGE fan & there is no way he's going to miss the game. We briefly considered canceling the 1st part of the trip to Orlando so we could go to New Orleans for the tourney instead!
If we get one of the early games on the 20th, I should be able to fit everything in. If we get a late game... I have gotten some info about NASCAR Cafe & NBA City since my earlier post.
If the timing is close, I'm going to try to convince DH to watch the game at one of those places. But I'm not sure if he'll go for it...
He doesn't sit quietly & watch the games. :happytv:
It's a very interactive experience for him! :jumping3: :hyper: :sad2: :jumping3: :scared: :furious: :jumping3: :worried: :hyper::jumping3:
What are the odds that there will be a bunch of rowdy basketball fans at CityWalk?

I'm a teen who isn't very much into sports, so no I've never heard of any of that. ;)

I hope everything works out for you though!

Thanks for the input. :)
...and don't worry, you should be hearing more & more about the Kentucky Wildcats in the next 2 weeks. ;) :teeth:
March Madness has begun!!:jumping3::cheer2::jumping3:
GOOoooooOO CATS!
