We really wanted to watch the fireworks from our veranda ( rm. 6032) on the Fantasy. Unfortunately the fireworks can be viewed only on the starboard side. Our room, I believe is port side. Where is the best place to watch the fireworks, where it is not crowded ??? A low key , low energy area of the ship, with a good view of the fireworks? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We watched them from deck 12 starboard side, near the Mickey slide. I wouldn't classify it as a "low-key" spot, but we had a great view!
Enjoy!

Are the fireworks always starboard? Why? Can you see them ok from balconies?

We wanted low key also - super place to watch is on the top of the adults only deck next to Currents bar. We found empty lounge chairs 15 minutes before they started.

Fireworks are always shot off the starboard side of the ship. The Captain will turn the ship if necessary so that this is possible.

Even if you were on the starboard side of the ship, you may not be able to see them from your veranda as DCL usually puts a note in your cabin asking you not to watch fireworks from there.

We have room 12000 on the fantasy (very front of the ship). Will we be able to see the fireworks from our verandah?:confused3

Most of the fireworks are propelled from the rear of the ship and many of the fireworks may not be seen from the front of the ship because the view may be blocked by the midship funnel.

Your best viewing experience will be midship deck 12:thumbsup2

We were starboard on both the Dream and the Fantasy and recieved a note on both cruises that we are not allowed on the balcony for fireworks.

Guests normally receive a notice in their cabin reminding them to NOT watch the fireworks from their balconies and be sure there is nothing left out on the balcony. DCL can't control where that hot ash may blow. I guess if they tell you to not be there and you are out anyhow, they can claim that you were warned.

We just got back and yes the fireworks were on the starboard side. Didn't realize it at the time, but I noticed a full moon just off the port side during the fireworks. An hour later we were walking around and sure enough, the moon was off the starboard side. We did turn around.
If you check out this site you can see the path of the ship when it turns.

We were deck 9, mid, starboard on Fantasy. We were not really able to see the fireworks. The overhang that juts out on deck 11 blocked them. Mabe a lower deck would have a better view, or the jogging track on 4.

Anybody ever tried from the extended balconies on deck 5 aft?
