Has anyone watched the fireworks from Desert Inn's viewing deck? What is the view like? Any way to hear the music?

We will be there tomorrow night and want to watch the fireworks if possible.

Thanks!

Sorry you didn't get any replies, @Cindylieu. Can you comment how your experience was? We're checking in on August 31st and wondering if it's worth staying late to watch the fireworks from that deck the day before our 3 day-marathon :).

Thanks...

The one time we went up there was when I was probably 7-8 years old. I don't remember much, but remember seeing the fireworks clearly.

View attachment 670647Fireworks from the deck of the Desert Inn. If you can't be in the park, at least you can watch from up high!

Info I would have liked to know:
1) You cannot hear the music.
2) The fireworks are pretty close but not SUPER close
3) They are angled a little diagonal to where the hotel is.
4) The deck fencing is tall and you are looking through it (see photo)
5) They have nice deck chairs and there were only about 10-15 people up there with us on a Friday night in May. Room for all.

(Em watched too...they were waiting for the start when this pic was snapped)
This is from my trip report. We liked it up there. Glad we went.

Thank you, I have to read your trip report now :)
We will try to watch it from there on our check in night, when we have no parks scheduled....

That's what we did. Watched & relaxed on a no-park day. There was plenty of room. Only about 10-15 other people up there.

For others wondering, if you are on a solo trip, the veiwing deck can be kinda sketchy feeling. I was alone up there, and there's only like 2 lights and the fence didn't seem very high. I left when a man came up there; I'm a petite solo-traveling woman, so I try to not be one-on-one with single or groups of men. Just my comfort level.
