So besides a quick MHP stopover on our way to WDW in 2015 we haven't been to DLR since 2014.

Last trip we caught the last night of Magical (fireworks) the it was RDCT for the rest of the trip. Any news on what is happening this year? Is it RDCT all year except for MHP and holiday time?

I see paint the night has ended with MSEP currently taking its place but scheduled in end in Aug-is anything expected to replace these? Will PtN return? Will MSEP continue?

There has been no official announcement to answer your questions. Yes, MSEP is supposed to end on Aug. 20th, but nothing has been announced to take its place. Right now the fireworks are RDCT, and no end date has been announced. At least F! is coming back to the nighttime entertainment lineup, so that will be a welcome change.
