Fireworks OR Character Dinner

Going to WDW in late Oct. We are arriving on Saturday. MK fireworks are only scheduled for Saturdays in Oct (except for MNSSHP). We will be at MNSSHP on our last night so we will see the fireworks in the parks.

My dilemma...

On our first night there, do we do a Character Dinner at 1900 Park Fare to get into Disney feel. Then see the fireworks at 9p on the GF beach and then wait around for the EWP.

What time do I make the PS?

I could do this on other night but I think it's a great intro to Disney.

OR

Have dinner at either California Grille or Chef Mickey to view the firework from there. Then go to see the EWP (at CR). If so, which restaurant to choose from and will be able to view the fireworks. What time do I make the PS? What are the chance of a window table? If you don't have a window table, can you view the fireworks.

May do Chef Mickey for a Character Breakfast on last day so I may be leaning toward California Grille. Is it a nice view if no fireworks?

So fireworks from restaurant or characters and fireworks from beach?

I like this one! You could make your PS for around 7:00 or so that way you'll have lots of time to eat before the fireworks. If you finish early you could explore the resort or take a ride on the monrail.

You can't see the fireworkds from Chef Mickey's and the food there is terrible. Also there are few if no window tables at teh CG which seat more than two.

My vote is for 1900PF, watch the fireworks from there, and view the FEP from there as well

I would do dinner at either the 1900 or O'Hana's, then head out to the beach to watch the fireworks. I dined at Chef Mickey's last trip at dinner and it was the WORST meal I've ever had at WDW. Food was awful and a total waste of money.

The 1900 is a character meal and O'Hana's is an family-style all-you-can-eat meal.

I think you'll be pleased at both places.

Gotta disagree about Chef Mickey's. It's no gourmet affair, but is a decent buffet.

We go there every year, because the food is good and it has a fun atmosphere. I would suggest going to Chef Mickey's and then walking down to the Contemporary pool area, lots of chairs, to watch the fireworks. Go to the farthest pool, next to the lagoon, for the best view.

Or try the suggestion about going to 'Ohana then go the beach. Also 'Ohana at the Polynesian has a character breakfast too, so think about that as a breakfast option.
