Fireworks on June 13?

I hear them outside. Either it's fireworks going off or there's something strange going on over at the airport.

Anyone else getting them this early?

No and I am not looking forward to the 4th of July either.
Of course if someone was shooting them off I wouldn't be able to hear them over the thunder.

It's a man thing. I find that some men (don't even ask how I know this ) like to get out old fireworks from last years 4th of July or New Years celebration and shoot them off. This usually occurs after a round or two or beer and won't stop unless a pissed off wife threatens bodily harm or a round with the water hose....

We have neighbors that just love to set off fireworks between 9pm and 10pm anytime of the year. Not alot but usually enough to wake up my DS8 who freaks a little bit and then realizes what it is and goes back to sleep but not before waking me up.

My dogs absolutely hate fireworks. Around here, they start in June and end around the end of August.

yes last month it was asian something at the college......last night a pretty good firework display for alumni weekend at the college......so we were outside watching them......its okey......but not a good Disney fireworks display

Considering I live near a baseball field that does Fireworks just about every weekend. We have had them going off since I think Memorial Day if not before.

Unfortunately, for the kids -- because they see them *so* often, fireworks are really no big deal to them. Unlike me who never got to see them except 4th of July growing up but even I really don't think they are all that special anymore either.

The kids will hear the bangs, go "oh, must be fireworks tonight" and go back to doing whatever it is they are doing (except the little one, he still likes to watch -- hey it's an excuse to stay up later. ).

People were shooting them off around here last night after the Penguins won the Stanley Cup. Right now they are shooting them off at the high school stadium near us for a Relay for Life weekend walkathon.

That is funny, you don't live in Newport News, Va do ya? Because I heard them a little bit ago too. I don't know why.

That was my first thought, maybe a Flag Day thing.


I know that a lot of the festivals or events will do fireworks..and our minor league baseball team did them after Friday night home games (no idea if they still do).

We've got neighbors that must spend thousands on fireworks every year...they've been doing it for weeks already.

Doesn't bother me...but my dog hates them.

Lots of good excuses here! I did think it was thunder at first. Then something at the airport, then fireworks and decided that must be it. Must admit that gun shots went through my head, but there were too many of them.

Someone on here mentioned graduations! Now that you mention it, DS's high school did have graduation today. I'd say the fireworks lasted no longer than a half hour. Maybe a wife appeared with a hose.
