Fireworks Observation Deck at the CR

I seem to recall that the area near the CG is no longer available to anyone not eating/drinking at the restaurant/lounge.

However, wasn't there another area that non-CG guests could visit to view the MK fireworks? If so, anyone know where it is, exactly?

Also, anyone actually seen the fireworks from there? How was the view? Is the music/narration piped in?

We're planning an early December trip and my 4 year old godson is just nuts about fireworks. I thought we might enjoy Chef Mickey's and then catch the fireworks on our first evening there as we will not want to use a day of park admission for such a short time.

Someone else can correct me if I'm mistaken but I do believe that the observation deck has been closed now for a couple of years.

we watched from a deck on same level as CM-great spot it was too

I've never been out on it but there is a deck on the same level as the shops and Chef Mickey's. Last week, I saw people out on it as we went by on the monorail. This was during the day. It is on the same corner as the shop that sells newspaper and books,etc..

I read last fall on this board that the top floor observation deck was open again, and we saw Wishes from there in early November. No one questioned us when we got off the elevator, and others were doing the same thing. Great view, and music is piped in (but try not to miss Wishes at the MK, where you can see the fireworks around the castle). From the CR you can see that the fireworks are actually set off quite a way from MK. The concrete wall is high, for safety reasons, and someone will probably need to hold a child up to be able to see.

I've never been on the 4th floor deck, so can't describe what that's like.
