Does Walt Disney World do a special fireworks show for July 4th? If so, is it done 2 nights (July 3rd and 4th)?

2 nights unless they change for cost reasons next year. 3rd is really swamped, never gone in on the 4th.

Yes, last year we saw the special 4th of July fireworks at MK on July 3rd, then spent the 4th at EPCOT. The fireworks were packed both days, but MK was not too bad most of the day on the 3rd. It seemed like everyone showed up in the evening just for the fireworks.

Good point on this, it was near dinner when people started to fill the place just for the fireworks. It's also when disney started to pull out the djs and switch to more festive background music. (Actually that started more like 4pm)

"Walt Disney World" is a big place. Only the Magic Kingdom does the same firework show on the 3rd that they do on the 4th. Epcot and Hollywood Studios have special fireworks on the 4th only. I don't think there are special 4th fireworks at Animal Kingdon.

i don't remember Hollywood Studios doing anything special for fireworks on the 4th. Just the Star Wars show this past year and, of course, Fantasmic. Animal Kingdom doesn't do any fireworks.

Correct. Loud noises would disturb the animals that live there, so AK takes steps to avoid them.

DHS has offered a special Rockin' Fourth of July fireworks show in the past, but this year, they did not offer it for the first time. The excuse was that they wanted to show the new Star Wars show, but obviously, they could've done both like they're doing with Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! (so it was clearly a cost-cutting measure).

Like others have said, Epcot offers a fantastic Fourth of July-themed tag to IllumiNations (I've never seen that many fireworks so close before) and MK offers a showing of Disney's Celebrate America! - A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky on both the 3rd and 4th. In terms of actual park touring, the 3rd is definitely less crowded (though still packed), but come nighttime, both nights are going to be insane. I've often recommended people book a dinner an hour or 1.5 hours before showtime at either Narcoossee's or California Grill. You won't necessarily get to experience the full perimeter firework views, but it beats dealing with those crowds in my opinion. I use to recommend the Polynesian's beach, though the last few years, much of it has apparently been closed off for concierge guests only.
