I disagree.
There are those who were there before DL was. Some houses were there before DL was built, so it doesn't matter if people "should know there are fireworks" because those houses were there before Disneyland was a thing, it's also the respectful thing to do. This isn't WDW, WDW can do whatever they want with fireworks without having to worry about disrupting neighbors.
Disney paid for sound proofing for those early buyers (heck, the Orange Groves didn't care in the 1950's) as part of a deal to offer nightly fireworks in the 1960's
If you look at DCA, they built a sound tunnel on segments of California Screamin' to keep the neighbors happy. (Also those gross Sound Shields (some thought they were Vomit Guards) on Maliboomer). Tower of Terror was designed so the "windows" opened into the main part of the park.
Also, nearby Knott's has a Sound Tunnel on its woodie coaster, Ghostrider.
