Fireworks help any advice appreciated!

Hey all, sorry if this has already been asked/answered. I did a quick search but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.
Fireworks are scheduled for only one night of our trip (and I know they can be canceled at any time) but how do you go about "getting a spot" to watch them. There are two showings of the MSEP that night. If we want to see fireworks do we stake out a spot for the first parade then just stay? Are the fireworks right after? If not can you sit on the ground to save your spot until it starts or do you need to stand the whole time? It will be our arrival day and kind of a bonus to see them so I don't mind investing some time to get a good spot.

Really any and all advice on how to go about seeing the fireworks is appreciated. I have no knowledge in this area! Thank you so much!

Parade viewing in the Hub and down Main Street will be on the sidewalks. Once the parade is done, they'll move everyone into the streets for firework viewing. You don't have to wait for anyone to tell you. Just get up and move to a spot of your choosing.

You can make it easy on yourself. Head to the It's a Small World viewing area, show up 45-30 minutes before the parade, then get closer to the Small World Facade so you can see the projections and the fireworks.

When we went to see it a couple of weeks ago, the Small World area was almost entirely blocked off for people with the dining package reservations.

OP, it's not nearly as tough to see the fireworks as the parade because you can stand in the street (which is obviously off-limits during the parade). You usually do have to stand, though, just logistically...
