How do you get more points on the fireworks game? Do you have to hit the fireworks when they are higher in the sky, or just when they are "shot" out? I have played a few times and even if I hit every one that is "shot" out, I still get different scores. Just wondering what the scoring system is.

Thx!

In order to get more 'flawless' scores, there is a system.

Wait until the firework is flashing. It will quickly change into a star.
If you time it right, as it's turning into a star, you'll get flawless'.

But the timing has to be right, or you will miss it entirely. It takes some
practice, but when you get the hang of it, you'll notice better scores.

also, in addition to BriarRosie's post, something I just figured out today...you can get "flawless" if any part of the firework is in your mouse square, but did you know that you can still get different point values? I was wondering why I only got 997 or 979 or whatever after a "flawless" hit...I got 1000 once today and I must've had that sucker dead-on...

I wouldn't worry about it just yet...practice and get better...then you can worry about accuracy...

I've also noticed something and have yet to remember to try hitting it, but... have you seen the "daisy" shell that just comes into view at the left top corner of the screen at the very end of stage 3 of level 3? It's just there for a second, and I wonder if there's anything special about it? Will have to try it when I'm on again later.

its not actually from hitting it dead on, its from hitting it at the last possible moment. Flawless is a range.

the other thing to remember is dont miss! sounds silly but so many people miss because 2 were shot at the same time and they waited for flawless on 1 and totally miss the other.

Here is a quote from a previous thread that might help! This most important part of the quote is the link to a video you might want to watch!

Most of the time yes I am hitting flawless, at least now . The most important thing to do is hit all the fireworks. Occasionally when there are like four or five thrown up in the air, it is important to hit those four or five; even if you score Ok, Good, or excellent, it all counts towards your overall score. The best advice that was given to me is to watch how long it takes each type of firework to become a white star. Each type has a definite length of time to explode, some faster than others. Once you learn that timing it will get easier to determine which firework to " shoot " first. I know WDWTigger posted an excellent guide to "mastering fireworks" , I will try to find it and post a link here!

Well i could not find that post from tigger but i found his video link and discussion of techinical play that you might want to check out. It is pretty cool to see him in action! lol

Also in the dis game guide there are some helpful tips you might want to check out!

Here's that link to the video again!

yes, I have the hardest time getting "flawless" on the purple and yellow fireworks...I wait and wait, but if you wait too long, you miss others...

thanks aengus...

The other thing to learn is that some types of fireworks last longer than others. The pink one with three circles lasts longer and takes longer to turn into a star than the red planet one. So you have to work on your timing.

I really hate the yellow ones (lemons) especially if they pop up in the last stage and last level.

About that daisy on the last screen of tomorrowland level- that one is just like any other- I have actually hit it once or twice- and it will also come out as a red (saturn) firework too

Getting the timing is an important thing-

I usually tell people to first try to play the game where they just hit every single firework- this gets you used to the patterns that come out- they do change game to game- but there are only a few varieties- and you will learn them quickly- this will get you used to flipping through those fireworks and make the order on the game (that you arrow through) become more of second nature too

Then starting in level one- start waiting for the stars and flawless scores- but like someone else said (two someone's I think :) ) don't miss if you can help it- it is better to hit two at good than one at flawless and miss the other.
Once you get to where you can hit most of those at flawless you can expand to the other levels- where you wait a little longer

FYI when I first started playing I did better at level three and up then I did at the first two levels- (still do) so many times I'd come from behind and beat people who were winning in level 1 and 2.

And it is just something that takes persisitence and practice. When I first started playing VMK I had a really slow computer and didn't even bother playing the game- when I Got my new lap top a few months ago- I decided to give it a try- and my husband would coach me to keep going- and gave me the same advice I just did here- and before long I was conisistently in the top 5 and that gave me an incentive to keep playing (the credits were worth it) and then I was consistently breaking 200K, then 210 and so forth- where now I usually know I will hit 240k and am starting to finish in the 250's more consistently...

And although I know I can usually do as good and sometimes better with credits in HM- I still am more relaxed playing Fireworks- so you will usually find me there in the evenings when my credits are getting low...
