Where is the best place to view the fireworks during MVMCP (or any show in MK I suppose, assuming they are not that different), and how early do you need to select a spot? We are going on Dec. 5 - a Tuesday.

You can see the fireworks anywhere in the MK pretty much, but I would head over to Main Street so you have the view with the castle! You don't need to stake out a spot too early. I normally get there 5 minutes before they start. The fireworks are in the sky, so everyone can see them, no one really gets in your way, and there is plenty of room, even on a busy day you can find a spot!

These fireworks are very diffrent from one another. The "WISHES" fireworks are great :thumbsup2 , and you really can view them from anywhere in the park, but if you are looking for the whole "magical" :cloud9: feeling while watching them I would say to scope out a spot around main street or in front of the castle. Both of these places offer the view of the castle with fireworks framing it. It truly is spectacular. Now the "Holiday Wishes" is a whole diffrent ballgame, it is a MUST to be infront of the castle or main street for these(IMHO). Theses fireworks are awe-inspiring. I have been to a good many fireworks displays and these blow everything away. And the ending it is just AWESOME :thumbsup2 . I would say for your first veiwing of either show try to get to Main street or in front of the castle. The only down side to this, and if you have done your homework you'll know, is the crowds afterwards :scared1: , but you can just sit back and let them roll on by :smokin: , and be one of the last to leave who knows you might run in to someone special :smooth: I hope this helps a little, and enjoy MVMCP it's a great time. We did it twice last year :woohoo: This year it's MNSSHP, twice also :cheer2: Just can't get enough of that silly mouse pixiedust:

At our first MVMCP, probably '02, we didn't realize the time, and we were by the carousel when the fireworks began. At some point, the fireworks were all around us, 360 degrees.

Is the 360 degrees viewing a function of the type of fireworks, or just where we were standing?

Bobbi :)

The 360 perimeter firing is done during MVMCP (not sure about MNSSHP, but I think the same). It is not done during 'regular' Wishes. It is an inspiring performance to say the least. After the final blasts are done at the finale, I feel drained. :faint: Only thing to compare is the Christmas ending on Illuminations at Epcot, equally stunning and awe inspiring. Disney does it like no other.

It's a special feature for the MVMCP fireworks. AFAIK, it's also done at MNSSHP, the 4th of July and other selected Holidays and special events.

Best wishes -

The 360 effect is everywhere in the park, but this only occurs on party occasions.

"Our spot is on the sunken path towards Tomorrowland so that we get a great view of Tinkerbell's flight as well as the castle as the centerpiece of the fireworks. It's not quite the same as Main Street, but I like the angle. I also just propped my elbows on the fence, no one to get in front of me or heads to shoot around, no tripod to tote, and I didn't have to look through at the screen except a glane here and there.

Here is the 2004 view, including the 360 effect, of the finale of Wishes, before they changed it to the Holiday version last year. (I'm partial to the regular music, but to each his own.) I realized too late I didn't set the focus like I could have, but that just gives me a chance to get it better THIS time around. ;)

Wishes, Finale, 2004

Thank you DemonLlama for that link. I can't wait until November now!! Do they only have one showing of the fireworks on the night of the MVMCP? This will be our first time so just wondering what time they usually have them and do they have Spectro that night as well??

Fireworks party nights are at 9:15p and they are only shown once. They are called Holidaywishes.

There will be no Spectro parade on party nights, only the Christmas parade.

A poster mentioned special Illuminations during the Christmas season? When does it start? We will be there from Nov. 15-19. Thanks!
