My youngest is graduating from high school this spring, and we're planning a trip to celebrate. Trying to add something new the boys haven't done, and we're considering Hoop Dee Doo, a Dessert Party, or Rose & Crown Fireworks. Which would you choose? We're a family of 4, not huge eaters. We've all seen the Magic Kingdom fireworks. My husband and I did Hoop Dee Do years ago. None of us have seen the new Epcot firework show.

Oh boy you're deciding between vastly different experiences...between HDD and the two fireworks anyway. For our family HDD is an often repeatable dinner show that we try to get to at least once a year. The food is pretty good for an AYCTE and the show always makes us laugh and play along. That would me MY personal choice of the three. But if you're not huge eaters AND you haven't seen the Epcot fireworks show yet then maybe consider RnC. The food there isn't anything to write home about and you're seated nicely for the show. However to be quite honest I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at RnC just for the everyday version of Luminous. I'd be more than happy finding a nice spot around the lake. We did it for July 4th but that was to guarantee a spot with minimal crowds. If you're going to drop money on a fireworks experience and you like dessert at least you're getting something special with the MK fireworks dessert party. So in the end I would probably say dessert party final answer. Have fun either way!

I voted MK Fireworks Dessert Party, though nowadays we like this one above better. More offerings for the price, really cool view, and out of the packed park.

We tried HDDR last year, and R&C Harmonious package last month. Both are great but I’d start with MK fireworks first if you’ve never tried, and save the others for next time.

I'd do Hoop-Dee-Doo, because you can still see both fireworks shows without the dining packages. Desert parties are fun thoguh, but if you haven't done HDD, I'd do that.

Great point! I’d do this!

We'd actually go with a 4th option - a Luminous fireworks cruise leaving from the marina at BC/YC. It's a fun evening and you get unobstructed views of the show.

I just love HDD too much to pass it up, although I did appreciate the MK fireworks dessert party because, being older, not having to stand a long time waiting for FW to start was lovely.

~ HDDR is fun. Cowboy cornball, sometimes interactive and all you can eat fried chicken. If those things won't be special or great fun for the grad then I would pass on it. Especially since it's not easy to get to.

~ MK Dessert Parties, done them all and at the current price point I feel like it's a waste. The "food" has really gone downhill while the price has gone up. Other than the direct view there is NOTHING special about the pre/post parties. On the Terrace is nice for seating, not for view or food. Watch the fireworks for free from same perspective!

~ Rose & Crown, we really have enjoyed it. Been 3x since COVID. Last time they really cut back on food choices and no more dessert plate, but we were fine with what was offered as we liked it all. The view is great, nice to sit, servers have always been awesome. The price is not that much more than dining with a few drinks and for us worth the seat. BUT because it is so small and "intimate" it is very hard to get reservations for it.

~ Adding @Genie+ suggestion of Celebrate Top of the World and THIS IS SPECIAL. The fireworks view is fantastic and not like anything you can see from the ground. It is an event, not huge, with MUCH better food than the dessert parties. If you can snag this it would be a really special treat.

Of the three, I would probably pick HDDR. We always like to do the 6:15 pm show followed by a horse-drawn carriage ride. We also timed it once so we were on a boat to MK when the fireworks started (the captain actually slowed the boat down so we saw the entire show while on the boat). It was incredible. We encountered the massive crowds pouring out of MK after the fireworks, but it was worth it!

Maybe also consider the Cirque show at DS (Drawn to Life) and dinner? It's an incredible show.
